Transmit Mode Works on Only a Few Bluetooth Devices
UPDATEI also bought the Aukey Wireless Bluetooth Audio Transmitter Portable Bluetooth Stereo Music Adapter Dongle with A2DP and aptX Low Latency Technology (BT-C1, Black) and found the identical problem. So far I have a Plantronics Headset that will pair with my Galaxy S5 and Tab 4 just fine but won't pair with either of these products. Same for JBL Flip (although it probably doesn't support APT-X.)However my Polar P311 headset will pair with both transmitters. Conclusion: I need to return the headset and both transmitters to Amazon and wait until I can find a wireless, over the ear, headset with active noise cancellation and APT-X that works with these transmitters or a transmitter that works with Plantronics. The e-mail support from Avantree has been wonderful but keep in mind that they work the day shift on Beijing time.ORIGINAL REVIEWI bought this device for "transmit mode" application with my Plantronics PRO headset so that I could use aptX audio quality. In transmit mode it would not pair with with the headset or my JBL FLIP speaker. It did pair with an Arctic P311 headset.Although the card enclosed with the product said there would be live support at the web site there was not.In order to submit a support request I had to answer a dialogue that was clearly designed to discourage support messages. For example I was required to say which Amazon store I bought the product from. Who remembers which store a product was in?Total fail for transmitting application unless maybe you get lucky and find a device it actually supports.

malfunctioned within 24 hours of purchase, button never worked
This is a very cheaply made device. I bought a pair of them, and when I first took them out of the box, I was concerned at the flimsiness of the switch you use to select between transmit and receive. But I remained optimistic (for a while). I paired the two devices and enjoyed that I could move the transmitter around and the receiver would pick it up without having to re-pair.But the next day, when I went to turn them on, the device set as the receiver started flashing red. I'd only used it for an hour or two so I couldn't see how the battery could be drained already, but I tried plugging it into power again. Though I left it there for hours, the charging light never came on. I went to the Avantree Web site to request support, and saw it's a Chinese company. No wonder. It's very cheaply made, and most likely the battery is faulty. This is a very poorly built device, and whether it works for you will be hit or miss. I'm returning the pair of them and looking for similar products from companies that can build reliable electronics. I would not buy from this company again.

pleased so far
I ordered two, but have only used one so far in the transmit mode. I have a living room projection system with a bluetooth speaker system. I was looking for a bluetooth transmitter to connect to my bluray player and projector to transmit the audio to the bluetooth soundbar. I set up the Avantree and it has been working well. I have yet to show a full movie so my pleasure is preliminary. I would suggest that you install a USB electrical plug since the unit is battery operated and I am unsure, not having run a full movie, how long the battery lasts. That said you would not want to try a marathon movie day with just the battery. Fortunately there are several USB plugs available and once my renovation is done and my projection system is finalized I will fully test the unit. The small size is extraordinary and welcome, the sound quality seems good.

Excellent for auto use with car aux jack
I use this in my car with my smartphone. I got tired of plugging the car aux cable into the phone every time so I use this. If it is off more than 30 minutes you have to turn it off and then back on (It has auto off to save battery use). I have been using it for about 3 months and it is performing well. You can use a cable to charge it while listening.(I don't hear any feedback or static while doing this) I usually take inside to charge about once a week. It paired with my Samsung Note 3 immediately. I have not tested the range really. It is only about 1-3 feet from transmitter to my phone in car. I listen to audiobooks while driving so playing over my car stereo is really nice. If a message is received on the phone, the audiobook app pauses (Akimbo Free) and then restarts while rewinding about 5-10 seconds. Very nice. I would highly recommend this item.

better than most, but still not ready for primetime
I purchased this receiver for one reason, aptx or apt-x. It's a audio compression technology that delivers near CD quality audio over bluetooth. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which has aptx tech built in, so I purchased this so that i may listen to music without having to plug my headphones in. The Sprigen Neo Hybrid case I have on it has a rather small opening for the headphone port, such that it's kind of hard to get the L-shaped plug for my UE TripleFi 10.Good:It delivered very good audio, better than all other bluetooths I have used. You know that slightly hollow, muffled sound that you get over bluetooth? Well, no more.Bad:However, there is a very audible hiss. When the music is not playing, it is quiet, but when it is receiving audio, there is a hiss that you can hear when you turn the volume down all the way. Maybe if you are using earphones that came with iPod or with my phone, you won't care, but with a in-ear monitor, it is very annoying. Now if Fiio can build a E17 with aptx bluetooth receiver built in, I will be in heaven. Another potential issue. The first time I tried to plug in my 3.5 mm plug into the jack, it was HARD. It took a lot of force to get it in. Something must have give inside, as now, it is smooth. I hope a problem won't creep up in the near future.

Brilliant Bluetooth product ...Five Stars for Avantree
Very happy with the performance of this Bluetooth unit ! I bought this to enable Headphone capability on a Samsung Series 6 Smart TV .This particular TV " mutes " the TV speakers when standard headphones are connected ...... I wanted an alternative to WiFi type phones as I prefer "in ear " headsets .......and the Avantree Saturn does the job just fine and allowed me to pair a headset of my personal choice to my TV! The Saturn comes with alternative connection options to allow either connectivity to Audio out by either 3.5 mm jack or RCA "red /white audio cables ..... and this allowed connection of both TV and Humax PVR to receive brilliant clear sound from TV/Humax set up with no problems at all!Great customer advice from Avantrees; excellent website ..and very handy video instructions are available for anyone not familiar with Bluetooth " pairing " methods etc . Good build quality ....great performance ...and the unit can be set as a "receiver" as well ...Brilliant product and certainly well worth buying !

Good value if around £25, clear sound and minimal latency
This is the Aventree Saturn (BTTC-200X) not the Saturn Pro that has a low latency codec. That said, this unit is better than the Layen BST for time lag (latency) and, the Layen failed shortly after installation. The Avantree Saturn comes with an RCA male to 3.5mm female cable, a 3.5mm to 3.5mm male to male cable and a USB charging cable. It quickly paired with a JBL Flip speaker that we normally use in the kitchen instead of a radio. Although it doesn't have the low latency codec of the Saturn Pro, it only had a slight voice delay in transmitter mode with the TV speakers on and, I couldn't detect it with the TV speakers muted and either the JBL Flip or Philips Fidelio M2BT headphones connected. The sound was clear without any interference. The instructions and warranty card were not in the box, but the instructions can be printed from the Avantree web site. The warranty is 12 months which could be debatable as the warranty in EU countries is meant to be two years.Update 13 October 2015Bluetooth failed on the Philips Fidelio M2BT headphones so I use the Avantree Saturn to provide a wired signal to the M2BTs, with Bluetooth picked up from a Cubot X9 phone. There were no drop outs in the gym and the sound was good.

Brilliant little BT Transmitter
A very good way of blue-toothing devices that come without BT ie my TVI have only used it as a transmitter so can only comment on that.Battery life is excellent. 10hrs apparently but it hasn't run out on me yet. It CAN be recharged while in use without any issue. It paired instantly with both my Sennheiser MM450X Headphones and also my Plantronics voyager headset. Okay it's not audiophile quality but plenty good enough for TV & films etc.Range is good, easily 10m line-of-sightThe only down-side is the delay. It seems to be variable so it could be a signal strength/codec swapping thing, it's especially noticeable when watching TV as the lip-sync can get bad on occasions, but i can live with that as i only really use it for listening to the TV from the garden without having the TV blaring out.

Hard to fault. Fantastic value.
I had ordered a a Sony BM10 receiver from Amazon, but they where obviously out of stock and six weeks was too long to wait. So I thought I would try this in the mean time.To cut a long story short, I have cancelled the order for the Sony BM10, as this tiny bluetooth transceiver is amazing!I have a Denon component amplifier, no need for a pre amp. Bish bash bosh, connected immediately to my Ipad.Sound is amazing, I can't detect any top end drop out, whatever that is? If for what ever reason you may want to leave the room with the sending device, the range is very acceptable in doors, even through brick walls.Paired to my Azatom Droid bluetooth speaker in transmitter mode, again range is pretty good indoors but lacking out doors.I tried plugging some normal headphones into the device. Wow. Plenty power to cause deafness!Great Buy.

Good for receiving BT audio on wireless headphones
A fantastic little device! Well packaged with a whole suite of adapters, I mainly got this so I could use my bluetooth headphones with my hi-fi. This does the job perfectly. Simply set the received/transmitter into the correct mode and press the button to get into pairing mode. Do the same with my headphones and they're linked. It comes with all the leads and adapters you should need to plug into hi-fi headphone sockets of Phono sockets. Battery life is good. I have also used it as a receiver in the car and had no problems there.
