Fitbit, please!
<3 my fitbit! If there were an option, I would give it 6 out of 5 stars!I had a few hiccups with the network connectivity about a month after receiving my fitbit, and I was concerned that it would be an all-the-time ordeal, but I have not had an issue since! Here's the thing. You can connect the fitbit on your iPhone. Then you can connect that app to 1/2 dozen other apps... I like to use the My Fitness Pal app because the My Fitness Pal has a HUGE food database available. The fitbit food database is a little small. The iOS7 update for my iphone is a huge change for the better - everything works faster now, and it is more streamlined and easier to use than before.I wear my zip right on my bra, in between the cups. I never know its there - unless I am checking my steps - which I can do thru my iPhone app. I just knock on the fitbit and open the app. Within 30 seconds, they are synced and I can view all of my info anywhere anytime. Now. I know this may fall under the 'too much info' category, but ... it is a health related product, and full disclosure is helpful, I think. I wear my fitbit to bed - since I am a little big on top, I prefer to sleep in my bra. And, because I have learned the lesson to not overwash my bras, I have not washed it by accident. I would say I am used to it enough that it shouldnt happen... Either I take off my bra and slip the fitbit onto the counter in the morning as I get into the shower, or I swap bras on the weekend when I get up and swap the fitbit to a new one... At this point, I have had my fitbit for a week short of 3 months. I replaced the battery last week - they cost me $5 for 5 of them...Accuracy wise, it is dead on. I wish the zip could account for stairs, or hills, but my steps still count, just not the climb ;)MOTIVATION! I make sure I make my steps. Right now, at least 5500 steps is my goal. If I am under, I go for a walk around the block. I am parking further at work. The cool thing is that if I walk a lot more, the program will automatically adjust my calories allowed each day, and let me know how many more calories I can eat that day. NO MATH, PEOPLE! It also asks you what your weight goal is, and will adjust your caloric goal each day based on your weight loss goal, it will set you up for a moderate, easy or hard plan as well, so if you want to lose 40 lbs like me, it has me reaching my goal in the spring, and adjusts my calorie goal in order to set me up to that goal.I did make some dramatic changes to my diet due to health concerns... but, only doing 5500 steps a day, and no other exercise, I have lost 16lbs in just under 3 mos! I am, admittedly, a bit of a techophile, and any digital "toy" can easily launch my interest and keep it quite easily. I have the fitbit linked to my laptop as well as my iPhone so that I can access more information.Battery lasts 4-6 months, replacements are $1 a piece. The con:The plastic tip on the end of the clip came off after a month. I saved it with the battery tool so I can swap it out from bra to bra still.

Outstanding Customer support!
I bought this fitbit zip for my daughter so she could be my and her mother's friend on the fitbit tracker website. So, now we can help urge each other on to get max steps per day. My wife and I have had our fitbits for a while now and what we like about these is that:1) they are small and easily fit in your pocket, on a belt loop, on my wife's bra strap, etc. They come with a jacket that has the clip on it. You can take the fitbit out of the jacket to replace the battery which is a flat type watch battery that is readily available everywhere.2) The fitbit zip comes with a USB dongle that plugs into a PC USB port. You just leave it there and any time your fitbit is close to your PC while it is on, it will automatically upload your step data and chart it for you on the fitbit dashboard you have on the fitbit webite. You just log into the fitbit website and all your stats are there - daily, weekly, monthly, yearly - in graphs and charts. It is easy to keep track of your progress over time.3) Fitbit will give you medals for reaching certain milestones - like 100 miles, 250 miles, 1000 miles, etc. So, this is an incentive to keep you going. I am currently at my 3,000 mile mark. That is a nice medal to have.4) You can add buddies to your fitbit friends list. We have our daughter added to our list. Every week we get a fitbit e-mail showing how each of us ranks in steps for the last 7 days. Usually our daughter is around 135,000 steps, I am at 90,000 (god for an old retired guy like me), and my wife is usually around 70,000. So, the fitbit makes us look at each day tomake sure we get at least our 10,000 steps per day.5) Fitbit comes in all kind of colors so you can get one to match your personality.6) The zip battery lasts about 6-months. Not bad. I have found replacement batteries on Amazon for only a few dollars, so they are easy to find. Most grocery stores sell the flat battery required in their battery section. The fitbit team cares about their customers. My wife recently had a problem with her fitbit jacket and I e-mailed fitbit and they sent her a new one. I had mistakenly told them she had a fitbit one unit which is a different size so they sent the wrong jacket. I thanked them for their support and told them they didn't have to send me another one of the correct size, since it was my mistake and I didn't feel right asking them to send another. I said I would just live with the problem. But they turned right around and are sending me the correct one anyway at no charge. I am giving the incorrect jacket to a local school who has students that use the fitbit. So, this is outstanding customer support. We love our fitbits, they work great and keep us motivated to not be couch potatoes, and customer service is superb. You can bet that other family members will find fitbits in their Christmas stockings this Christmas.
