Featured in the Channel 4 documentary 100 Vaginas 100 women bare all in an empowering collection of photographs and interviews about Womanhood. Vagina, vulva, lady garden, pussy, beaver, c**t, fanny… whatever you call it most women have no idea what's 'down there'. Culturally and personally, no body part inspires love and hate, fear and lust, worship and desecration in the same way. From smooth Barbie dolls to internet porn, girls and women grow up with a very narrow view of what they should look like, even though in reality there is an enormous range. Womanhood departs from the 'ideal vagina' and presents the gentle un-airbrushed truth, allowing us to understand and celebrate our diversity. For the first time, 100 brave and beautiful women reveal their bodies and stories on their own terms, talking about how they feel about pleasure, sex, pain, trauma, birth, motherhood, menstruation, menopause, gender, sexuality and simply being a woman. Review: A groundbreaking book - One of feminism’s paradoxes — one that challenges many of its optimistic histories— is how women's embarrassment of their own bodies has remained persistent over time. This book is a major milestone; a long overdue treatment on the subject of the most secretive and intimate parts of a woman's body, the vulva and vagina, and is to be applauded. For the first time, the women interviewed and photographed by the author spoke openly and freely about the hidden parts of their bodies and demonstrated that, "we're all different, yet fundamentally all the same." Women's bodies are perfect in form and function. There is no reason for shame or embarrassment. This wonderful book she be stocked in all school libraries and read by all adolescents. Review: 👍Great - 👍Great

We are all beautiful
With women around me I think this is a an excellent vehicle to reassure women that they are not abnormal and negative body image thoughts are common and to be cast away with the rest of life’s baggage.

A joy to read, a celebration of women.
I read the book cover to cover as soon as it arrived, I couldn't put it down. I cannot describe how wonderful it is, as a woman, to see real women's bodies, with real women talking about themselves. So many varied stories, some sadness but also huge positivity. This book is a celebration of women. It is a joy to read, an absolute joy and I urge everyone to buy it. I'll also make sure my children have access to this for whenever they feel curious to see what real bodies look like. I'll now be buying the Manhood book too.

Need Some Perspective?
If you feel any negativity towards your body and especially down there, purchase this. I appreciate the photographer made this book. She first did one with men but didn’t think women would benefit!!! Idk why because women are so judgement al over our bodies! The stories shared may help you feel that you are not the only one dealing with something personal. From awful abuse to feeling not enough for not looming a certain way, these women share their story and most personal physical part. Great idea. She could do volumes of this book.

Lasst euch nicht so was sagen!!!

Great read, interesting topic
Interesting collection of personal stories and companion photographs. Really unveils the human aspects behind our relationships with our genitals and sexuality. Always interesting to learn people’s most personal thoughts about such am intimate and often taboo topic. The companion book featuring men is also a good read.
