Stanley Mountain Vacuum Food System, 20 oz, Stainless Steel

After warming the inner compartment with hot tap water I filled this with hot soup intending to eat it for lunch. Unfortunately work did not allow for lunch this container of soup sat in my truck all day in 12 degree Fahrenheit weather. Once I returned home I sampled the soup. Though it was no longer pipping hot after 12 1/2 hours it was edibly warm, not cold,and after another quick nuking in a microwave safe container it was my supper.This performed acceptably given the circumstances. I expect future lunches to have adequately hot food. I am satisfied with the Stanley Mountain Vacuum Food System.

First... know that this is REALLY well made!This is not for ultralight camping, but it is an excellent camping gadget! For years, I've had to carry some kind of "sealable" pan or pot so that I could cook ONCE and then eat later (to save time and fuel when I'm on the trail)... sometimes they work... most of the time they leak. But this nice little kit not only has an integral pot and bowl/cup (and spork) but it is a high-quality "thermos" as well. Whether I cook up a meal and put it in the thermos to eat at my next meals stop or if I'm just "preloading" it with hot tea before I go to bed for use in the morning, it works great!If you are a manic ounce-counter and looking for titanium or something equally trendy... don't bother... this puppy is made of good-quality stainless steel... and while it might not be the lightest kit you could use, it should last through years of rough treatment...I highly recommend this (and most other Stanley products as well)... it is for REAL camping, not gear-geek posing... (Note that I proudly consider myself a "gear-geek" as well, so don't take offense)... ;-)

Have using this everyday for work the last two weeks since it arrived . Keeps my food hot all day. Even after eating half my food then re sealing and eating the rest later . I have used the pot on a gas stove and open camp fire . The handle is very secure.Two Con's I have with it is that the handle has plastic spring locking part that I believe could easily melt if you don't pay attention to how much heat hits the handle area. I made sure I kept checking the area for excessive heat. Stanley needs to update that part to metal. I was very unimpressed with plastic spoon. Replaced the spoon with a Snow peak Titanium spork which fit more securely then the plastic spork it comes with.The system was well worth the money If Stanley replaces the plastic in the handle I will give it five stars.

I wanted this for Christmas as a gift, but ended up buying it myself. Feels and looks very sturdy, and plan on using it for hikes and short overnight stays. The actual product is a little bit bulkier than shown, but looks like it will work. Will be great for soups and stews on cold days, and would probably feed at least two people.

Seems like a nice product .. I'm very disappointed as it came with a huge dent in the lid. (See picture)Like a Stanley products it's well made and very well thought out. The pot has a nice handle that folds out nicely, it's also dishwasher safe. The top doubles as a cup or bowl. What's nice about the screw top is that it opens up for more storage so thinks like salt, pepper or a napkin can be stored along with everything else.I think this would work well and be great for those outdoor folks in your life. I got this as a gift to give. Due to the damage I'm not going to gift it. Unsure if I will keep it for myself or if I will send back.Sanley's motto is built for life, if this product dents so easily they should rethink putting that slogan on it. Disappointed I can't gift this.

Perfect for making groats. Boil 3 cups of water in the pot & add 1 cup groats and the water to the thermos and seal it up. Wait an hour. Comes out perfect and you can store brown sugar in the top compartment and eat it with the attached spork out of the cap. The spork is a little flimsy but it works.Updated: 11 Nov 2018. Been using it for a few years and one day the vacuum just seemed to be gone. Hot water added to the thermos just radiates heat all the way through now. It was fine one day and the next it wasn't.

it's realy heavier than I expected. but keep temperature very good

Awesome product love the fact I can keep some items cold for atleast the first day by using a cold pack items like hot dogs small chicken tenderloin wrapped in foil so on, if going on multiple day trip I’d only store none perishable, but tones of room in the main thermos for oatmeal, protein bars, cheese sticks, jerky, hot Chocolate those kind of things

El producto me parece muy bueno en general, pero venía golpeado de la tapa. El termo con la cuchara son lo que esperaba, pero la olla tiene en el mango un soporte plástico que se derritió la segunda vez que puse a hervir agua. Salvo eso, es muy buen producto si no es importante ver abolladuras sobre la superficie.
