Amazing monitor at a great price!
I've always been hesitant to take the leap and upgrade to a 4K monitor, I've previously only been using 900p and 1080p monitors. However when I saw that Samsung has this 4K monitor at such a great priced compared to other options, I decided to finally give it a try. I've been wanting to take full advantage of my gaming hardware anyways which is the primary use of this monitor. Being a 28 inch monitor, this was definitely the biggest one I've used so far and I was a bit worried beforehand that it might be too big. But as it turns out, the larger size is definitely a plus. In addition to that, the image quality was very good too, definitely one of the nicer 4K displays I've seen of that size. The monitor also has a lot of great features like Picture in Picture that actually works very well too. A personal plus of the monitor for me is that it turns on very quickly. It's a small feature overall but a big positive thing in my book. I've had a lot of monitors in the past that took awhile to turn on and display the image, but this one from Samsung is very quick. Overall, this monitor is definitely one of the best displays I've ever personally used especially considering the price compared to other monitors out there. I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking to upgrade to a 4K monitor without breaking the bank but are also looking for a trusted and reputable brand too. The only downsides I can really think of are that the out of box default settings make the monitor a little too bright for me and the contrast too high, but after some time fiddling around with the settings, I found a comfortable setting for me. There weren't really any presets that quite suited my preferences so I did have to adjust the settings manually. It's really a matter of personal preference in that case though. Aside from that, I haven't had any other issues with this monitor. I look forward to doing more 4K gaming on this monitor!

Very Good 4K monitor for programming and gaming
I work in IT industry and needed a sharp monitor for programming and reading. This 4k monitor is perfect for that, very crisp and clear display. Works pretty well with Windows and Mac. I am using this as the second monitor for Mac laptop in my day time for office work. Also using this monitor as the entertainment device for my Windows machine (for gaming, video etc.). Played games very smoothly. One very important thing I had to do first was to calibrate it inside Windows. The default settings will be too bright, hazy and low blacks (you can look for the tool called "Display Color Calibration" in Windows). Once the settings are adjusted after calibration, the same settings played very well with the Mac laptop as well. The Mac has retina display and this will match up with that. In fact I prefer this display over retina display, it's my choice. Pros: * Crisp and clear * Very bright * 4K * Responsive * Very easy for reading and programming Cons: * Didn't find a way to set auto brightness control * The features for settings controls are lacking, not customizable * Cannot turn of overlay message at startup (just annoys me) * Factory settings are useless, you need to calibrate * Again, most of the presets are useless, wonder for whom they designed those * Don't use monitor sound, just buy a pair of speakers Overall I am very satisfied given the amount I paid.

4K Monitor 1st Impressions - Sharp & Clear, colors to be tweaked
Monitors can be a very passionate topic. I'm not so concerned about color as would someone who is concerned about what shade a particular color is. While I want reds red and black to be, well, black. I'm not sensitive to shading yet (I think). This monitor is replacing a 16+ year old ViewSonic that ran me over $1,000 back around the turn of the century. My video is driven by a EVGA GTX-670 (NVIDIA GeForce) w/4GB. While the display is very light weight (I did not weigh it), it's much lighter than the 2011 HD display that I'm using. The display is mounted landscape mode about 32-36 inches from my face. It's set at 3840x2160 with a 125% scale factor within MS Windows. the display area of the screen measured at 24-3/8" x 13.5". Doing the math, this (1.80556) does not match up with 16x9 (1.77778). Need to test with imaging. But for the moment, my initial reaction, is that the images look OK although the orange background color that I have on a Hanns-G HZ281HPB that I've been using for over 6 years, seems darker, "richer" (?), than I seem to be able to adjust the Samsung to be. The Samsung seems a little washed out, but I will fiddle some more. I'm writing this before spending any time calibrating -- this is my first impression. I am checking out the initial settings (I just installed this) because it seems very bright... there is a button-joystick behind the monitor at the lower right corner: Samsung "Magic Bright: Custom Brightness: 100 (out of 100) changed to 30 (I have a lower light office) Contrast 75 / 100 (changed to 50), no immediately obvious change to me -- display still looks great Sharpness 64 / 100 changed to 52 (50 was not an option, 48 or) Color (Red, Green, Blue, Color Tone & Gamma) was all set at 50% values. Samsung Magic" Angle: Off HDMI Black Level: Normal The "Picture-In-Picture" mode can be set side by side, so it's not quite what I think of with Picture-In-Picture, but if you want to simultaneously have multiple systems displayed, this might be a useful feature; not so much for me. I am quite happy and I wouldn't buy another one until I fiddle some more, I am happy with it. I'll look at some video shortly. Update (Late June '19): Been using the monitor; it developed/didn't notice a bad pixel square in the middle. Amazon/Samsung replaced the monitor w/o hassle (points there!). Video, text, everything on this is really sweet. I'm using a Hanns G 1080x1920 (portrait mode) next to it and I'm beginning to want to replace it with another Samsung. The text on the LU28E570DS/ZA is crisp and clear. The "recommended" setting is at 150%, I am loving the sharpness and readability at 125% (@the recommended 3840x2160 resolution). The night light is cute, I'm not weighing in on its effectiveness (at this point). Update (April 2020): Loving it. The replaced monitor has been flawless, no bad pixels. I'm loving the clarity and detail.
