The best Blackberry ever built
I have owned 5 Blackberry devices in a period of 6 years. The one I liked the most was the Blackberry Bold 9000. The last I owned was the Blackberry Torch 9800 and it was the worst nightmare I ever had in my professional life. So I started looking desperately for another device, even seriously considered going back to the old and known Bold 9000 but they are not built anymore. I do not like touchscreen, I do NOT need touchscreen, I type very fast, "I need tools, not toys".So, I stumbled upon the Bold 9900 with a certain hesitation. The "faster processor", "touchscreen" ads did not touch my heart, I was already heartbroken with the Torch. But I bought it. What a pleasant surprise ! It was BETTER than the Bold 9000, but improved ! Instead of the trackball, the touchpad now is a real update, the screen size is just perfect, the combination of phone, internet, email, GPS, compass, etc., makes sense for a power user like me, taking care of hundreds of customers with just one device for emails, SMS, phone calls, instant messages. It is blazingly fast, sharp screen, wow !I am seriously considering buying another one before RIM decides to update it and scrap the good job they did with this one. It always happens to multinational companies that some marketing initiative designed to supposedly innovate and bring better numbers destroys a company's own market. Those experiments work well with PowerPoint presentations, endless conference calls with Engineering departments and hundreds of layers of middle managers but end up being disasters with the consumer. I am crossing my fingers so that the good people working at RIM today stay there and keep providing us with good tools.Make no mistake. This phone will reinstate RIM's reputation as the prime manufacturer of business-oriented smartphones. Bravo!

no connection, even with ATT rep
Phone has not been able to keep signal connection. Hence, phone has never rung. Lack of service for over a day & text messages that are received the next day make this cell phone useless. I had to move my service to our spare (son's) phone. It has been quite frustrating.

Very happy with this 2G/3G "world phone"
This phone is great. It uses BB's OS 7, which is still safe and secure from hacking, according to the U.S. Dept of Defense. It has a very solid feel, and the gorilla-glass touch screen has great resolution. It's an unlocked phone for use worldwide on any GSM network. I personally have used it with both ATT and TMobile sim cards; each worked fine. It has 8GB device memory, and has a slot for a memory card, as well. It can be set for 2G or 3G or 2G/3G wireless coverage. (IT'S NOT A 4G PHONE) Wifi access is easy to set up, and works great, as is the Bluetooth. The keyboard is the "wave" style, with frets between the rows; the individual keys are not spaced apart from one another. The optical track-pad works great for scrolling, or use the touchscreen. It has only a single convenience key on the right, but it's nice to have the actual buttons for phone use on the center tool bar.

Nice Equipment
Very nice equipment: I am using it to replace my ITT unlocked BB 9700.Could never connect in better than EDGE with my Tmobile sim card in USA. At the present time I am connected H+ with my Movistar simm card in Venezuela. The equipment came withouth any memory card, so I took the one for my previous Blackberry (keeping my pictures and music).Regarding the battery I can hardly cover my day without needing to recharge. This is one of the not so good things of this phone. Its size is much beter than my 9700, the keyboard is bigger so I do not make as many mistakes pressing the wrong letter, also the screen is excellent, and the touch has many advantages for handling the phone

The Bold 9900
I have been using the blackberry 9860 and just shifted to the Bold 9900, apart from the physical qwerty key pad both phones are great. but if you are a chat fun then the bold 9900 is the best. am only disappointed with two things, first my bold 9900 did not come with the mobile hotspot meaning i will have to upgrade so application which i do't know where. and secondly which as become common with most phones, the battery life is just to short, currently my battery can only stay for 14-18 hours even-though am mostly not chatting. but apart from the battery its a great phone and as usual the product was delivered as per instructions.

Good but less than I expected
Had a lot of problems setting up this device, it was not out of the box working. I could not get emails via bridge to my BBPlayBook. Found out that AT&T the brand on this international unlocked phone had blocked Bridge function with this device. Finally had to take the device into the local provider to resolve that situation. Ask a lot of questions before you purchase.
