Fat Boy Skinner This knife blank is a nice chunk of steel: 9CR14, heat-treated with a bright polished finish with a ribbed spine. With its drop point design this blade has many practical, real-world uses: skinner, hunting and survival. Great handle feel. Specifications: Overall length: 7-1/4" Cutting edge: 3" Thickness: 3.5 mm Pin Holes: (4) 3/16" 9CR14 Stainless Steel. The kit includes the blade, the wood scale indicated (2 pieces of wood, the correct size for the blade handle), the correct size and number of pins (brass or nickel), and detailed step by step instructions. This is a simple project that can be a starter knife for beginners. You will need something to cut the handle material (scales), a drill for the rivets (Pins), a clamp or two, and sandpaper. We also recommend a five minute epoxy to attach the handle to the blade. The photo is of a comparable kit. We are a small business located in Springville Utah, made up of family members. We strive to provide the best quality knife making materials and knife kits possible, from the experienced knife maker to the first time beginner. Often we are asked if a teenager or inexperienced knife maker can accomplish making a knife. Our answer is always YES! We started off as brothers putting together a knife kit together one weekend. We loved it so much that we turned it into a business. It is an awesome simple project for all ages. We have over 25 wood types we keep on hand, along with making resins, stabilized woods, wood micarta, laser engraved woods, fractal burned scales, bone, horn, and a large number of unique scales. Great kit
I’m a novice at knife building and this kit was superb at giving me some guidance to build on what I already learned from prior attempts. The instructions were easy to follow. I didn’t follow to the letter, and made an impressive knife that I was very satisfied with. I haven’t gutted a deer or moose yet but I have no doubt this product will function as well as it looks.

Fun easy knife kit
Turned out great but the blade had a little chip in it upon arrival. Questioning the durability of the metal.. I didn’t request a new kit or return, hopefully the chip can he sanded out. The wood scales have great character.

Don't buy
Cheap knife made in China.

Made in China.
Bought this as a gift for my nephew to finish, but after receiving and inspecting it, I just tossed it aside on the shop table. Had several flaws in the Tang, but what can you expect? It's made in China. Not even stamped "Made in China", just a cheap sticker that said so. Don't waste your money
