I expected it to be a bit bigger. Probably would go up to the large if I had a do-over, but on the other hand, this size works well enough and is very portable. With unlimited resources, it might be worth keeping a large size for shooting from a car, and a medium for hiking. This one is small enough to clip to my belt or camera pack without getting in the way. With the Wild Grizzly lightweight fill, it weighs so little that I'm not even aware of it as an extra weight, but getting the Wild Grizzly lightweight fill in it is an adventure in itself. You can read all about it in my review of that product. This size does sit nicely on a car window frame or a rock or a park bench, and holds my Fuji bridge camera fine, with the telephoto fully extended. For an SLR, I'd go with the larger bag. Feels like it will be pretty dirt and water resistant.Before deciding what to fill it with, you'll want to consider options. The lightweight stuff is fantastic for hiking and EDC, but sacrifices a little gripping power and stability -- the whole thing would blow away in a strong wind. If you're not going to hike long distances with it, skip paying for the light stuff and fill it with something a little heavier, like buckwheat hulls, or rice.

I purchased this to support my camera and lenses when I shoot. This works great and is also fantastic for supporting my camera when I take low shots as well as supporting my camera from the car window or on a tree branch or rock.. The camera just fits on the medium version of the bag and I may go to the large bag in the future. I also purchased a 5 lb. bag of the poly beads (shown in photo) from www.amazon.com, and they work great. I get fabulous support and it's not too heavy. I almost used the entire bag, maybe 4 lbs. I left just a tiny bit of room at the top of the fill and it works perfectly. See photos. I highly recommend this bag to photographers and depending on the lenses you use, you may want to get the large version. There are a variety of colors and camo for those shooting wildlife. It appears to be a heavy duty canvas bag with a fairly heavy duty zipper. The opening where you put the beans could be a little larger and may be on the large version, but I didn't have any problem filling it carefully one large spoonful at a time. Great Bag and Fill.

A very functional support. Good on a car door window, and about any surface really. I used white rice for fill - a box from Costco was $5.29 for 4lb 8oz and I still have a few ounces left over after completely filling. This gives an idea of how much weight you might use. It is not heavy to carry at all and makes a sufficient base. I'm glad to have the bean bag and keep it in my car as it is not large...just right for my M4/3 EM1 and Nikon D90 with medium telephoto zoom lenses.

Great for bird & wildlife photos from the car. Always there and ready to go with ease. A little too heavy to carry around on a wildlife hike if you fill it with beans. I know others who used the super-light foam beads but I can see how it would be very difficult load in the narrow opening of the bag. And the foam did not seem as stable as beans.

I wish there was a way to simply order the bean bag with all of the styrofoam beads in it. Stuffing them in the bag is the worst part of the process. The bag itself is well constructed and seems sturdy. I can use the Medium one as a rest on my car and shoot with my 7d and Tamron 150-600 just fine.

The medium size Grizzly Camera Bag is PERFECT for my Nikon camera with a Tamron 150-600 lens. I was able to stuff this medium size bag completely with 5 pounds of Garbanzo beans (chickpeas). I’m very happy with the way my camera rests on it! The fully stuffed bag craddles my camera and lenses providing solid support.

Too light weight. Needs some heavier fill.Hard to hold a long lens still when you are shivering in the cold and and photographing an eagle across the river from you in January in New York State. This could well blow away in Florida breezes.

Love the bag. But filling it was another story. Have been using the bag for a couple of weeks with my 70-200 f/2.8L IS, 300 f/4L IS lenses. Works great. Supports the lenses very nicely. Have taken it on outing where tripods aren't allowed.. no problem using this bag. The only issue is you need patience to fill it especially it you get their bead filler [don't]
