U-MAX 50" Recessed Wall Mounted Electric Fireplace Insert, 9 Colors Flame/Touch Control Screen & Remote/750-1500W Heater with Timer, Crystal, Black

It looks great in the new wall we put up where we tore out the huge over-sized wood fireplace. It's fairly easy to install as well. The main difficulty we had was taking the glass front off (has to be done in order to pull out the styrofoam packing and to mount it).It turns out that the problem we had was caused by the metal tab inside being slightly bent, so the glass front panel wouldn't slide up properly. The instructions also aren't clear in that you need to slide the glass panel up, then out. Removing the screws (the instructions are also vague in regards to which screws to remove - it's the silver ones on the sides) and trying to lift the panel doesn't work - push it towards the top of the fireplace and then out.I ran a dedicated circuit for it, as a 1500 watt heater would draw 12.5 amps - that doesn't leave much for anything else on a 15 amp circuit. I comes with a cord wired up, but don't use it if you are mounting the fireplace recessed into the wall, no electrical code that I'm aware of allows a plug in inside a wall or other inaccessible space. It's easy to remove the cord and connect the wiring straight into the fireplace, it's just 3 sheet metal screws and 3 wire nuts. And that way it's up to code.The flames look good. Not quite real, but very nice. You can change the flame colors from orange to blue to orange and blue. I personally think a yellow flame choice would help, but that's a personal thing. We're using the fake logs in the bottom instead of the crystals - it comes with both. I saw a few reviews where people used both, and maybe we'll try that later, but the logs look fine. You can also change the intensity/brightness of the flames.The remote is nice, and you can also do everything from the front panel. Turn heat off/on, adjust timer, temp, flame brightness, color, etc. I'm not a fan of the "beep" it gives every time you adjust anything, but meh, it only beeps once. Not a big deal.The measurements in the description are accurate, as I framed the rough opening to those measurements, and it fit fine - just a "tad" to big, but that gave me room to adjust to make sure it was leveled and centered.Overall this is a great electric fireplace. Cheaper than others I've seen, and it can be recessed into the wall (what I wanted) for a nice clean look. The heat comes out the front at the top, and it has two settings.Bottom line is that you can spend a LOT more for another flush mount electric fireplace, but I wouldn't.

I'm so happy with the colors and heat output, its working wonders in my small cabin. But the reason I'm submitting my first review is because I didn't get to install this until a year after purchase, when I discovered the heat wouldn't work more than 5 minutes and then shut off for a day. I decided to try sending the manufacturer a note explaining I just installed it and if anything could be done. They asked for a video which I sent, and then responded with "we'll send you a new unit, don't worry about shipping that one back, and BTW its our latest model with way more colors, so let us know what you think" Awesome. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE

I like this fireplace. to solve the blinking light problem everyone is talking about on the control panel buttons I simply took the glass off and put electrical tape on the back side of the glass. This made it where I cannot see the flashing anymore. I did leave the temperature indicator window visible which still flashes every 5 minutes but it is not annoying like seeing all of the rest of the buttons flash. It was so bright it would actually wake me up at night! I hope this helps others solve this one small problem.

I ordered two of these inserts. One stopped working after a short period of time. The company provided outstanding customer service and quickly sent me a replacement. I highly recommend this service provider.

I purchase a few dozen fireplaces a year for property renovations. Recently, my 'go to' fireplace was discontinued so I tried 3 or 4 new models. This one is by far the most superior aesthetically for the price point. Easy to install with some 'DYI ' knowledge, and arrived very quickly. Note, if you are installing on tile/stone, you will need a tile/masonry drill bit, not included.

This is a great product so far. It took awhile to figure the install. The lights coming on and off every 5 minutes is the only issue so far. For the price it's Great!!

Je suis en condo et nous devions tous retirer nos foyers au bois. Bonne alternative à bon prix pour mettre un peu d'ambiance, comparativement aux foyers électrique à 1200.00$ ou 1500.00$ qui nous était proposé par l'entrepreneur.

Après plus de 4 courriels avec tous les pièces justificatives demandés, et toujours sur la garanti, on me demande toujours de reformulé ma demande de réparation. Une pièce serait à remplacer dans le foyer, j'ai très bien expliquer le problème mais on me demande toujours de recommencer mon explication. Je crois que persoone ne lit mes courriels. Service à la clientèle médiocre.
