Very cool and works well, yet expensive. I’d say it’s worth it.
This mount works as advertised so far. It has been installed for 2 weeks or so at this point. For now everything is working properly, it sits at any point along its range of motion up and down, the gas pistons seem to really help with the motion and stability. I had a contractor friend install the mount which I highly suggest with this unit as it recesses into the wall and is quite heavy. Used small zip ties to secure wires to the mount to easily rectify the lack of cable management built in. Make sure everything is tightened and adjusted to provide as much support for the mount to hold the tv in your desired position. It’s all in the directions, make sure they are reviewed carefully. You can even set it to not swivel past a certain angle as to avoid accidentally smacking your tv against the mantle or the wall, depending on how big a tv is mounted, I mounted a 65” Samsung to it and it would smack into the mantle when pivoting too far, but the mount has been adjusted so that it won’t swivel past a certain point, which is nice. Anyway I will update this review if I think of anything else or if anything develops with the usage of the mount. This product is expensive but I would highly recommend it so far. Definitely get help installing this mount unless you are really up for a DIY project or if you are fairly handy, it really isn’t too complex but if you tear into the wall and realize that studs have to be moved you may get discouraged. Good luck y’all. I am for sure enjoying this mount.Edit: 3 years later still working really well

Outstanding Product
We mounted a 75" (diagonal) Samsung UHD TV that weighs nearly 100 pounds and the lift works beautifully!

good luck finding an installer that will do it.
I like the idea of the product and the build is excellent, HOWEVER... NO ONE will install this for me! It says on the website "simple installation" uhhh for who exactly. If you are building the wall and during construction of your fireplace this may be ok. You need to have your wood studs framing the box like a window installation. Or build some out. I literally have had multiple of the best home theater installers on Yelp refuse to install this. When I called for installation support a man with a South African accent rudely skirted responsibility, and told me I could return it, return shipping not included . BTW their are some necessary accessories that need to be purchased on some mounts that really add up fast. With tax and shipping the mounts get very expensive quickly. I regret my purchase.

Get a knowledgeable installer
I had been looking forward to this for some time, but it is a somewhat cumbersome and heavy mount. I was quite lucky to find an installer with MantelMount experience. Although the MM750 was new to him, he took the time to thoroughly familiarize himself with the in-wall instructions including removing a center stud and building the appropriate "box" around it. It turned out great. I'm planning on painting the inside of the mount to match the wall so that it doesn't stand out when the TV is lowered. The TV itself is a 75" Samsung Frame, so we display art when it's turned off and we really enjoy it. Told my wife that its like going to the Museum without having to walk around and she laughed.

Holds our 90" & works great!
Holds our 90" & works great! It is Definately a 2 man, full day job. A bit of a bear to install (read directions carefully), as it is Very Heavy, but it is super sturdy! It is quite pricey, but I am happy with my purchase. If you have a Huge TV & need to bring it down in front of fireplace for viewing, this the one you want!

Design Flaw
I returned mine—a real hassle. Once I examined the recessed box and began to mark the wall for installation between two 16 on center studs, there were obvious problems—the box has no knock outs to install power or cables, and the box lacks sufficient space to DIY a cutout. At the same time, surface mounting on the wall is unsightly when the arm is extended because the box is too wide to install switch plates on the surface between the box and studs. So you can’t run the cords on the arm mechanism without draping them across the wall. Meanwhile, even if you’re okay with that look, you now have plugs sticking out that keep you from getting the benefit of the recess you paid for. “Okay, I’ll purchase recessed boxes for the cables, too,” you might say. Well, again, there’s no room for them adjacent to the box because the box is actually too wide to accommodate them between the box and the 16” o.c. stud. And who wants to create that space by moving the TV off center? The design engineers would have benefited by referring to the Peerless recessed box, which fits snugly between standard studs and has cutouts, too. I own one of those. Unfortunately, Peerless doesn’t make a pull down mount for its box. These two companies ought to get together and make a well-designed, recessed pull-down mount.

Works as advertised!
Impressed with the solidity of this mount. Works smoothly and easily. Some customizing required for the TV (included bushings would not work; made new ones) and sound bar (soundbar mounting holes too widely spaced for included bracket; drilled new holes) but works well now.
