Beautiful chess set. Looks elegant and the details and finish are impressive. Really nice... The pieces are heavy and have a smooth felt bottom. The board is stunning. Includes felt drawstring storage bags for game pieces and a green felt lined interior storage area. Overjoyed with this purchase. Looks like it would cost quite a bit more. I orderee this for my partner for an Easter gift, and I am very pleased with the chess board(not like im an expert or anything). the packaging was wrapped, the chess board itself is beautiful, very classy looking. the chess pieces were all there and one set of silver and the other of a bronze color. The pieces themselves have a nice weight to them with pieces of felt underneith to keep them in place and not scratch the board, and they each come with a black velvety case for each set. Inside the box the bottom part is a green velvety that wasn't damaged nor was the box scratched at all(I saw other comments say their box had been damaged). I think this is a great gift for anyone who enjoys playing chess, or wants a nice classy looking center piece for a game room, living room, or reading room.

This chess set is awesome. I was nervous about getting it because the other reviews were talking about how they received missing pieces and stuff. But i got everything and i just love it ! I bought it for my Boyfriend and i know hes going to love it ! The chess pieces them self are really nice and heavy they look really nice too . The board is a decent size. I for one like the size. The pieces come with pouches to put them in and the chess board its self is a box so its great for storage ! Honestly those other reviews had me worried but i love this chess set and i know my boyfriend will tooo ! Defiantly worth the money spent !! : )

It's a good quality chess set, especially when you compare it to other options. For the price that you are paying though, I was hoping the board could be a little thicker. Its convenient that it has a decently sized storage space though because I could fit other card games inside of there. Chess pieces are nice, but the one weakness of the set is definitely the board quality. Feels just a little too thin and its a little too easy to scratch. Other then that though, its really fun, and makes for a really good gift for someone who is still using mats to play chess.

This metal chess set is my new favorite set! The metal pieces are nicely finished and heavy. The board is beautiful and I leave it out for everyone to enjoy.

My husband is a firefighter and we where looking for a gift for the guys for the station. Chess is one of those games you can go run calls and come back to it so this what his selection. Beautiful set that looks nice enough to be left out. Great way to healthily decompress. Only critique was my husband thought it was going to be slightly larger so pay attention to the dimensions.

Pieces are designed of metal and are very durable and will last for a long time. The first one I received was all I hoped it would be and more. I was not just looking for a functional chess set, but also one that had a rich look to it, and would blend with my decor. I have to say, it looks great. Now the bad news... I decided to get one for a friend. When he opened the box, we both noticed that stain was covering a portion of the decorative border surrounding the board. I sent for a replacement, and decided to check it out myself. This time, there was a chip and small crack on the board, and it seemed as if stain was placed on the chip. Back goes number two. I don’t know if I want to take a chance of getting a “good one” again, but if you are willing to send the damaged ones back until you get one that was perfect, like the first one I purchased for myself, it’s well worth it.
