Bohemian Living: Creative Homes around the World
L**R
Not terrible but could have been a much more exciting book.
Given the world-focus of the book, pity the photographer has used some pages on Barnaba Fornasetti, whose father's home has often been featured before. There's 2-3 pages given up to describing just how gorgeous the people are. Which is a pity when you see some of their 'art' which is pretty pathetic. There are some great two-page pix which show usually the sitting room. And since I've not come across some of these people, the book isn't a complete waste of time. But sometimes there's only room for a couple of pix and sometimes the pix the photographer has taken - a photograph of a delicious monster plant, some pretty boring cut out circles - make you think that's the best she/they could do? Also there seems to be confusion - people with very messy homes doesn't make them artistic/eccentric, just not good at visual impact which given they also talk about how gifted they are and how their Art is everthing is rather a shame!
