Women's Top Handle Handbag Vegan Leather Crossbody Bag

I will start by saying that I am a bag snob. I usually pass on vegan leather, but I needed a smaller bag for travel and this bag appeared to meet the requirements. After receiving it, I can tell you it exceeded requirements. First, it comes in a nice box wrapped in tissue paper - like you would get at an upscale department store. It is not mailed where is packed completely flat and smooshed. This actually looks like leather. The cognac/saddle brown color is a perfect neutral. The hardware is a beautiful heavy gold and looks rich without being gawdy. And the number one thing that makes this a great designer bag dupe - it has gold feet that protect the bottom of the bag from touching whatever you set it on. The flap of the bag closes with two magnet snaps. There is a strap with gold hardware that wraps around and appears to be more decorative than functional - however it does snap and unsnap also. Did I mention how nice the hardware on the bag is? This also comes with a shoulder strap. There is a small pocket on the interior of the bag. I should mention that this review is for the small bag. I can fit the iPhone 17 Pro Max., card wallet, car keys, a pen and small notebook as well as a lipstick and a compact in the bag. It is kind of a tight fit, but I specifically was looking for a small handbag. The bag is a bit wider at the bottom. If you’re reading this review because you were thinking about purchasing this handbag, I highly recommend it. I would also believe that the quality carries over to the other bags offered in this collection - so I would highly recommend this brand as well.

Modern petroleum-based plastic textiles, such as vegan/faux/fake leather, are known as “fast fashion material”. This fake leather handbag is very nice, with a leather look and appears very sturdy and well-stitched. The handle is sturdy and provides a comfortable handhold – but there is a hard “rod” of some kind under the upper surface of the handle which might not be acceptable to some people – I found it uncomfortable, but my wife found it OK. An optional, detachable, adjustable shoulder strap is included which uses metal snap-hooks and the metal handle loops (see pics) – better than plastic for durability/stress points. Inside is a large slot side pocket (see pic) – not suitable for a cellphone because it is stitched flat against the inside – no extended base or sides for room. I ordered this for my wife, and it got her instant seal of approval and that is good enough for me. She reported that it is roomy enough for all her usual purse items. The box also contains a very nice “satiny” storage bag (see pic). I am pleased with this order. It does not exactly match the product webpage information (see notes below). NOTES AND CONSIDERATIONS: --- The bag’s internal tag reflects 100% PU (polyurethane – a petroleum-based plastic) but the product webpage Materials & Care details reflect that the inner lining material is “Likely Polyester”, which is a different petroleum-based plastic fabric. --- The webpage Top Highlights and the Features & Specs details reflect that the closure is “Zipper”. This is wrong. The closure is a combination of a metal latch on the outside, and under the flap, there are 2 sets of magnetic “snaps” (see pics). My wife would have preferred a zipper, but the latch/snaps are acceptable. --- The webpage pushes the term “vegan” leather in the headline and other places. Vegan is just another term used for fake leather (non-animal based) – there is nothing special about it. The use of the term “vegan” can provoke an eco-conscious response which could be considered inappropriate – see considerations below. Fake leather is usually PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or PU (polyurethane), which are petroleum-based plastic products. This purse is tagged as 100% PU plus a (“likely”) polyester lining. PU is considered more eco-friendly than PVC and is more flexible and breathable. --- Consideration 1: While fake leather is a bit cheaper than real animal leather, the durability is much less. Fake leather has a useful life expectancy of 2–5 years (depending on frequency of use) but real leather can last decades or a lifetime. This is because petroleum-based fake leather has less durability due to being thinner than animal leather and more prone to damage and chemicals, so it succumbs more easily to wear and tear. Fake leather is also more prone to discoloration. The Venivora Care Tag specifies keeping the fake leather bag away from direct sunlight, water, oil and perfume (see pic) – all of which can cause premature material deterioration. --- Consideration 2: “Fast fashion” petroleum-based plastic textiles and accessories, such as PVC, PU, polyester, etc. contribute 17 million tons of waste in USA landfills annually (2018 EPA study and has been increasing every year). Real leather is biodegradable and decomposes in a few decades, but these “fast fashion” products can take 200 – 1000 years to decompose and contribute microplastics to the environment which can reach the oceans – 35% of microplastics in the oceans come from “fast fashion” textiles and fake leather with .5 million tons annually (2020 IUCN study). With “fast fashion” textiles replacing animal-hide leather, waste hides are simply shipped to landfills as opposed to tanneries which would have processed them into more durable and biodegradable real leather.

This bag is adorable. Small, like a little girls purse. That’s not meant as a negative. It has a lot of good points. Just don’t expect it to hold much. Keys, tissues, card case, lip gloss is about it. The opening can only be stretched to 2” though the bottom is wider. It’s good for formal outings. For the positive points - all the metal hardware (including the “feet” on the bottom, have a nice heft and finish. (Please pay no attention to the spots in the photo - I didn’t think to clean the camera lens😬) There is a triple closure - if fully closed it’s not going to pop open! There are two magnetic snaps under the top flap. In addition to the snaps, there is a side strap that wraps to the around the front which is secured by a hinged metal bar. The strap is mostly decorative in nature, but it does prevent the top flap from flying open. There is a small inside pocket. There is also an adjustable shoulder strap, though I don’t think the boxy style of this little handbag lends itself to a shoulder strap style. The stitching is all excellent quality. The faux alligator patent leather finish is slick (I mean that literally, not stylistically) and shiny. I was able to get the essentials to fit for a short events. I’m very pleased with it!

While the front strap lock is functional, it serves more as a stylish design element, as the bag has a strong magnetic closure under the front fold. Inside, the bag's materials feel just as smooth and to the touch as the outside, with its black PU leather lining that gives it a clean, polished look. There is a small interior pocket that is useful for organizing smaller items or an ID. The handbag's size is practical for everyday essentials without feeling bulky. It can be carried by the top handle or worn using the adjustable shoulder strap, which is made of the same quality materials as the bag. The included storage bag, featuring the brand’s logo, is a good way to keep the handbag protected when not in use. Overall, this is a well-crafted, stylish handbag that balances appearance and functionality effectively.

The top-handle silhouette looks very modern, chic, and high-end. The adjustable crossbody strap is a fantastic feature, making it easy to switch up how you carry it depending on your outfit. It holds my phone, wallet, keys, and a few small makeup items perfectly without losing its shape.

This purse arrived in a really nice gift able box and bag. The smaller size is small, but does fit a small wallet and iPhone. I like how it comes with the strap that can be removed because I like having my hands free while shopping, but cute to carry just with the handle. I find the strap latch in the front a little awkward to open and close, but I like the look of it. Although the purse is not leather it does feel well made. There are feet at the bottom for when you went to set it down.

5 stars This bag is sharp. The glossy croc-style finish gives it that polished, “yes I did put effort into this outfit” look without trying too hard. It feels structured, classy, and way more expensive than it is. I like that it has both the top handle and the adjustable strap, so I can carry it cute or practical depending on how ambitious I’m feeling that day. The black goes with everything, and the hardware gives it just enough attitude. Great little statement bag for work, dinner, errands, or anytime you want your purse to do a little of the heavy lifting style-wise. Very happy with it.

This is such a great smaller handbag for everyday use. It fits all the essentials—phone, wallet, keys, a few extras—without feeling bulky or overstuffed. The design is really well done. It has that classic, structured look that feels a bit like a well-known designer style, but it doesn’t come across as a copy. It stands on its own and looks polished and intentional. The neutral color is gorgeous and goes with just about everything, which is probably why I keep reaching for it. It works just as well for running errands as it does for a more put-together outfit. The top handle and adjustable strap give you options for how to carry it, which makes it even more versatile. Overall, it’s a stylish, well-made bag that’s been in heavy rotation for me. Great value for the money and a really easy everyday piece.
