Is this suitable for bicycle chain lubricant?

You can use LPS 1 to lubricate a chain, but I have used it mainly as a water disbursement in electrical applications. LPS 1 does not leave an oily film. When my trucks distributor was affected by a heavy rain and wouldn't let it start I sprayed LPS1 inside the cap, while it was raining and replaced the cap, the truck started up on first try. My recommendation for chain lube is LPS 2. I keep both sprays on my shelf.

Is this lubricant safe for rubber/layex components?

As far I know it is safe on about anything. I have used this product for 40 years and would not want to be without a can of LPS No.!. Great product. Suggest you go to the online company site for your answer.

Is this good for electronic switches and contacs

Don't know if you still read these answers but I will still try. Use LPS 1. Go on Youtube and watch a video called "Firearms Facts: Gun Oils We Use". Iraqveteran8888 uploads A LOT of firearm videos. In that particular video go to minute 8:03 and just listen to what Eric says about certain LPS numbers.
