Zero Glycemic, safe for diabetics
I learned the value of this product early in 2021. Here-to-for, sweetness of the product has been reliable although different foods and beverages will require you to adjust to your taste. As such, you will discover more product is required to achieve the desired sweetness. After a year using this Monk fruit sweetener I personally do not experience any after taste other than a comparable to regular sugar after taste. I do not experience any Blood sugar spikes what-so-ever. I drink a strong coffee that normally requires about 1/3 tsp for mild sweetness. Morning Oatmeal with diced red apple and cinnamon, chopped walnuts and pecans for protein and 5-6 drops of Monk fruit sweetener.I RECENTLY HAD TO PURCHASE THE 1.5 OZ SIZE BECAUSE AMAZON DOES NOT HAVE THE 8 OZ REFILL SIZE AVAILABLE IN A REASONABLE SUPPLY TIME. (20 -30 DAYS, PROBABLY BECAUSE OF SUPPLY ISSUE FROM CHINA WHERE MONK FRUIT IS ONLY GROWING SOURCE).THIS MOST RECENT SHIPMENT DEFINATELY IS NOT AS SWEET. MY NORMAL CUP OF COFFEE REQUIRES A FULL TEASPOON OF SWEETNER INSTEAD OF THE 1/3 TEASPOON. SO I NORMALLY GET 6 CUPS OF COFFEE PER OZ OF SWEETNER. THE MOST RECENT SHIPMENT ONLY YIELDS 4 1/2 CUPS MAKING THE SWEETNER NEARLY 50% MORE EXPENSIVE. SO EACH CUP OF COFFEE HAS $4.00 OF SWEETNER PER CUP VERSES $1.50 PER CUP NORMALLY. :(I HAVE NEVER QUIBLED OVER THE PRICE @ 1.50 PER CUP. I DON'T MIND PAYING THE PRICE FOR SAKE OF GOOD HEALTH. THAT SAID, THE LOWER SWEETNESS OF MOST RECENT SHIPMENT LEADS ME TO WONDER IF MANUFACTURER IS DILUTING THE PRODUCT. I HOPE THIS IS NOT THE CASE AS THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN RELIABLE UP TO THIS CURRENT ISSUE.I call this the safest and best product on the market simply because it has no added sugar alcohol or Erythritol that will cause blood sugar spikes. Erythritol is an extremely sweet additive often used in other Monk Fruit brands and frequently (read the ingredient labels) is used as a sugar substitute in many processed foods that are labeled "Lo or No sugar added".Some claimed Organic Monk Fruit powder sweeteners have Erythritol added to enhance the sweetness. Those additives will however spike Blood Sugar. That said, consumers should read the ingredient labels carefully.I have had diet controlled diabetes for 14 years. Simply put, I have never needed Insulin or other medications to control the Diabetes. When first diagnosed I had been consuming a pint of Ice Cream every evening and eating any processed foods including Candy bars without regard to the damage all those foods I enjoyed that were having a devastating effect on my health and longevity. I then realized my terrible unhealthy diet would shorten my life. I struggled mentally for about two weeks while stopping all sugar and foods that elevate Glucose. I was really fraught with a lifetime of ignorance regarding my terrible diet. That is when I had an Epiphany of mind as I realized only I could prolong my life to an expected old age closer to 100.I am now 85+, rarely nap, do 30 minutes of cardio exercise daily, Survived Brady Cardia and Atrial Fibrillation with an implanted Pacemaker in 2021. My Diet is Hi Protein, lo saturated fat, lo-Carbohydrates, Fresh Organic fruits and vegetables daily, all for Glucose control. I also take up to 60 Vitamins and Minerals daily.Although this may seem like a horrible diet, the reality is how long do we expect to survive. I really have not encountered any unreasonable change of taste in the food I consume. It has been more a process of elimination of hi fat, hi sugar processed foods that we all know eventually lead to poor health. So can we conquer mentally the Lifestyle changes necessary for longevity? The proof for me personally has been that I have never needed to monitor my Glucose levels after the first three months of 3 X daily sticks for blood sample. I recently had to fast for an Esophagus surgery. My blood sugar after three days of starvation was 58. Medical staff at hospital was in a panic thinking I was in Hypoglycemic shock. Frankly I knew better simply because Diabetes is a huge money making industry and Allopathic medicine follows the industry directives. I felt fine but medical staff in their panic stood by while they pushed me to quickly drink three 8 oz glasses of hi sugar orange juice while they stuck my fingers for glucose blood. It took 45 minutes for my Blood Sugar to rise to 120. THE DIET AND LIFESTYLE WORKS FOLKS...The first year was a daily mental challenge. A close younger family member was diagnosed about the same time and that person has never been able to overcome the mental challenge necessary in following the diet that reverses type II diabetes. That person within 6 months was prescribed oral medication and within 3 months was doing insulin several times daily for Glucose control. He spent 3 months in hospital with Covid in 2021 and is now living with Oxygen about 6 hours daily.Conversely, I have managed to remain Covid free in spite of living in the same house with 4 family members all who had Covid. They did not quarantine and all since are now working to improve their health and diet.Good health to all,Bro@home

Best Zero Carb/Zero Cal Natural Sweetener I've Tried
I've been searching for a sugar replacement for quite a while. I've tried just about everything, but still wasn't "happy" with how my coffee tasted when using them. I tried erythritol, sugar alcohols, stevia, and sucralose, but to me, they all had a weird after taste. I did use agave nectar for a while, definitely a first place winner as far as taste, but while its glycemic index was lower (how quickly sugar enters the blood), the overall sugar and carb count is still high. So while it was a little helpful in the short term to keeping my glucose readings from spiking, in the long term, it was still detrimental to the overall goal of drastically cutting carbs and sugar from my diet. If - like me - you're diabetic, or if you've ever done keto or low carb dieting, you understand the dilemma. I kept hearing about monk fruit extract, but most of the brands on the market are not pure - they're mixed with erythritol and other ingredients. Finally I found this brand by Smart138 Foods on Amazon. Simply called Monk Drops, it is pure monk fruit extract with nothing else added to it: no alcohol, not even water. It has no preservatives, so refrigeration is recommended after opening to preserve freshness. At $10, for 1.5 oz, it's a bit expensive, but I'm going for it. My health is at stake after all!A little goes a long way. To sweeten 6 oz of coffee, 3-4 drops is recommended. Of course, if you like your coffee sweeter, or if you pour a larger cup like I do, you'll need to use more. I use about 16 drops in a 16 oz mug of coffee. The BPA-Free plastic bottle and dropper tip has a very small opening so you have precise control over how much comes out. It drips 1 drop at a time, not a squirt like some other liquid sweeteners do. Even when you squeeze it hard, it still comes out a drop at a time, just faster. To open, the cap must be pushed down and turned, similar to a child safety cap, but it's quite easy.It has very little after taste. After trying as many zero calorie/ zero carb sweeteners as I have, I find this one has the least amount of aftertaste. My coffee tastes more like it used to... not exactly the same as with sugar, but definitely better than with stevia, erythritol, sucralose, or any of the others I tried. It's great in tea and lemonade as well.It can be used in baking, but you need to adjust/ use less: this product is a lot sweeter than sugar. In my opinion, one drop adds the sweetness of about 1/8 teaspoon of sugar.Servings per bottle: Each bottle has about 350 servings and a serving is 3-4 drops. Assuming you use 10 drops in a mug of coffee or tea, thats 35 mugs, give or take as to your personal preference and usage.Monk Fruit grows only in China, but this company, Smart138, imports it and bottles it here in the USA.It is Non-GMO, Paleo, Keto, Vegan, and Gluten Free.I recommend trying it at least once, especially if you are looking for 100% natural alternatives to refined sugar that are zero calorie and zero carb. It works for me! Will buy again!I enjoyed writing this review and hope you found it helpful. Thanks for reading! :)
