Some issues with my scroll wheel, but still great.
So I've had this mouse for about a year now, and I do very much like it. It feels good in my hand, and was a decent purchase when it was on sale for about $45.00 when I bought it. Now however it is back up to $70.00, and after a year of use there are some issues with the mouse. First of all, after maybe 5 or 6 months of use a small piece of plastic inside of the scroll wheel mechanism broke. I don't know how. I would try to open it up and fix it myself, but I know almost nothing about computer mice, and I was surprised to find that the scroll wheel worked perfectly, and it could even be adjusted still. I thought nothing of it. Then after another 2 months or so, I started to notice that there were inconsistencies when scrolling. For example, if I am scrolling down at a medium pace, then I slow down, the next few scrolls will scroll much longer. I didn't use to do this before (or at least I didn't notice). Then a week later, the middle mouse click started to act up. Now you have to press on it with much more force than any other mouse owned. It's not horrible. The force required to press middle mouse isn't really much more, I just wish it hadn't happened. I'm not going to buy a new $70.00 mouse because of this. Also, as noted in someone else's review, the little rubber piece on the left side of the mouse feels like it is peeling off. It hasn't every come off, it just doesn't feel like it's attached very well in the corner. I noticed this after only a week. It's only been 1 year, what is going to happen after another? Hopefully this is the extent of quality issues, and I'll be able to keep using this mouse for at least a few more years. I've had worse things happen to mice, but as this is a $70.00 product I'm disappointed. Also the software is annoying, but this has already been said in other reviews. These are only small things, and the mouse is still really good. It can be really sensitive for FPS games and what not, but also a lot less sensitive for regular use. I like the mouse's "multi-function paddle". I use it to slow down the DPI when pressed, so when I'm trying to accurately click on something, I have much more control.Overall, the mouse is very customize-able, and nice to use. However the build quality of the scroll wheel seems to have some problems, and the software is a bit garbage. Good buy, but even better if on sale.

A Solid Gaming Mouse
This is about the 5th or 6th Razer gaming mouse I have purchased over the years. The Basilisk so far has been a solid performer for both gaming and general use. The DPI clutch and wheel friction adjustments are the most novel, cutting edge features. The DPI clutch paddles (two are included) are made out of metal and are held in place magnetically. I do not believe the magnetic/metal nature of the paddle is explained anywhere on the Razer site or in the manual. I find that the right mouse button is easily triggered accidentally. This is probably more a function of how I prefer to hold mice than a design shortcoming. The wheel friction adjuster was one of the selling points for me as I generally find mice wheels rotate too easily, especially in gaming. Even at the maximum friction setting, the wheel is still too loose for my tastes. This mouse includes two lighting zones, the wheel and the logo. The Synapse software provides adequate control over the lighting effects. However, if the Synapse software is not running continuously, the mouse lighting can either be totally off or in a rainbow cycling mode, neither of which is my preference. Lighting effects cannot be saved into the internal, onboard profiles. This limitation coupled with the bloaty nature of the Synapse software, is a real detractor for me. Sort of stunning that Razer could not engineer the mouse to store even static color/intensity information into the onboard profiles. The Synapse software, when running, employs about 3 service applications and about 3 regular applications. None of them need to be running continuously unless you want the lighting effects to work as intended. Another odd limitation of this mouse is the inability for the onboard profiles to retain the 1000 Hz polling rate. The onboard profiles will only run at a maximum of 500 Hz. However, it is possible for the mouse to remain in the 1000 Hz polling rate without the Synapse software running if you set polling to 1000 Hz but do not select one of the alternate onboard profiles. I've only had this mouse for a few weeks but I generally like it. I am a bit perplexed by the polling rate and lighting limitations I noted. Razer could have really hit the ball out of the park with this mouse had they overcome those seemingly simple, perplexing limitations.

Really good mouse for 'daily' use
The mouse is really good and accurate. Being a razer product the lighting is top notch, but you need to run Razer synapse in the background to sync the effects. For gaming it is really good, but i wouldn't recommend it for fps games, its heavy and the glide is bad. It is however good for story games, mmo rpg etc. Tracking is perfect and i haven't had a single issue. Also lift of distance is very low, im a low sensitivity player, so i lift my mouse a lot.Cons->The mouse has inbuilt profiles for button mapping, but it does not save the lighting effects to the profile->All profiles except the main (white) profile default to 500hz polling rate, if your dont have synapse in the background. If you do, then all of them will be 1000hz/the polling rate you set them to.->Razer synapse sucks, easy to use but it is very resource heavy and buggy.->Been using the mouse for almost 2 yrs now, and the side rubber grips are starting to fall off, I tried sticking them with glue multiple times, but it is only making it worse.->Also the side clutch button is kinda loose, might fall off soon.

Excellent mouse but scroll button stopped working
Excellent mouse in all terms. Just scroll wheel stopped working today after almost 1.11 years of purchase. Issue faced by many people but haven’t figured anything out.

Razer Basilisk is a versatile mouse, not just for gaming
It replaces my previous computer mouse for general purpose. Buttons with 50 million clicks lifespan should last a long time. And I find Synapse 3 software very useful to remap all buttons (7 buttons plus up and down scroll wheel buttons are customizable, but the left mouse button must first be reassigned to another button before it can be customized). The hypershift feature is also very useful, as if my mouse has 9 more controls with a click on a dedicated hypershift button that I can assigned to any button. The possibility to program macros is also a welcome feature. The two independant zone RGB lighting (Razer logo and scroll wheel) with Chroma Studio effect (Synapse 3) is also pretty to watch when the mouse is just sitting on the desk. Creating different profiles or the possibility to customize configuration of the mouse for different devices and save it in the cloud on the internet is very convenient. Keyboard function to rebind mouse button to some keyboard combination is powerful and even more powerful with the use of a freeware on Windows PC like AutoHotKeys. I"m a left handed person, but since the first mouse I used more than 30 years ago, I always used my right hand to control the mouse. It would be great though if most mouse manufacturer could offer the choice to customers on a special order for a left handed mouse for the same price as a right handed mouse.

Razer Basilisk FPS Gaming Mouse
The first impression is very impressive, comfort is just finominal and the vast no.of DPI customization the Razer Synpase 3 offers makes is top notch experience. The RGB is just mindboggling. The mouse weighs at around 107g, the DPI clutch is handy (I haven't tested it). The basilisk essential was expensive when I bought it, so I went for this and this offers an awesome grip coz of the rubber grips on both side. NoTe: ONLY FOR RIGHT HAND GAMERS.Other than that click response is good.Good job razer. Btw there is also a v2 of this mouse, if it's cheap you can go for this. No doubt the materials used in the mouse feels premium. Go for it if your budget is under 4k!

Best mice for Minecraft and GTA players.
This is a great gaming mice and seriously I have used so many mice like Logitech G502, G903, Asus Rog gladius and this is the first Razer branded mice. I expected that this mice will also stop responding after a month but my expectation was wrong. This is one of the epic mice for gaming. Now everything with this mice is ok for me but one problem is that the mice gets hot very fast. So what I recommend is that to download the Razer software from the internet and in the chroma studio make settings for the RGB lights to breath and this really worked I made the RGB fusion to breathing settings and now the thermal problem is also gone. So if you are a gamer (especially a minecraft or GTA) then you should invest your money on this mice and it is really helpful to use it.you can even customize the rgb lighting feature in the official software as you wish. Red, blue and green color looks the best in this mice. As a final word I would say Razer is an epic brand for gaming peripherals.
