A Lovely Way To Start Again (and it comes with a good case!)
I was selling my friend's 1975 Martin 000-28 guitar and while it was in my care I began to start learning to play again. The problem was, it was going away, so the day it left I had to find another guitar. I absolutely endorse any Martin Guitar, as I promptly went to the music store to find a guitar to call my own but, Martin is a pricey thing and simply put I can't afford one at this time. So I began my search for another, cheaper guitar. I played about 20 different guitars, read reviews, searched Amazon.com and Googled many options. In the end I came to this one, a Fender. First, it was under $300. Secondly, it qualified for Amazon Prime. Third, the reviews I found online seemed to confirm it had a good sound and nice feel. So, I took a chance and ordered one. Simply put, I really like this guitar. I've picked it up every day since I ordered it (in the past 10 days) and...here's the few points I like the most...1. The appearance is quite lovely and rich. I know, it's a cosmetic thing, but it really does look nice. 2. The built in tuner is so very handy. I have a couple of other tuners but I use the built in one all the time now. 3. It stays in tune quite well. Granted, I have had my hands on older guitars as of late, but it really does a great job of staying in tune after mucking about for 1-3 hours. 4. The cutaway body is excellent so it is quite comfortable to hold while sitting in bed or on the couch or my office chair. 5. The case is nice, it's a hard case (not like a gig bag) with a plush interior and a container within to place strings and picks and a capo or what have you. 6. It's a good light weight but still feels solid. 7. The tone is warm, it doesn't get too rich in the bass or too crisp in the treble but for a less than $300 guitar I have to say I was more than impressed with what I got. 8. It's and electric/acoustic so you can plug it into an amp and away you go if you'd like, it's good to have the option, which was a concern and interest for me. Many reviews said a lot of these types of guitars sound great plugged in and less than great unplugged, but I really do appreciate the unplugged sound of this guitar. 9. The neck is rounded, not a hard V, so I find it comfortable for my hands, I'm a 6'2'' guy with large hands and I find it quite comfortable.here's what I don't like...I haven't found anything I don't like about it yet. If I do, I will update my review, but at this point, it all is working well with about 15 hours of use in the last 10 days. I'll keep playing to see if there's anything I don't like ;)5 star review...I give this 5 stars because you get your money's worth out of this item. For the buyer with a lot of cash, compared to Martin acoustic guitars, I would call this a 3.5-4 star guitar, but since I am not able to pay the $1100 for the Martin I want right now, this is a great deal, especially since the closest Martin of this type starts around the $700 price. If you are wanting to learn or if you want something to kick about casually and you want to spend more than $100 and less than $500 I think you will be surprised by the overall quality of this item. Granted, I'm sure many seasoned players will find many faults with anything under $500-$1000, but if you want to start with something that looks and sounds good and doesn't cost a month's rent, give this a shot. I think you'll be as happy as I am and surprised with the quality you get for the price! All the best to you and your playing and I hope this review was helpful.

Great first guitar or a guitar to get past your first one.
My thought process when I was looking for a guitar to buy was: I want a guitar that's good for my level of guitar playing -I've been playing for a year and a half as of now- but isn't going to completely destroy my bank account. I knew I had always loved the feel and sound of playability of fenders so I gravitated towards them as opposed to martins, taylors, gibsons and other guitars that would make me spend more like 700 dollars for a guitar this level. I also wanted the onboard preamp and tuner available to me. Those are the main reasons I chose this one.My impressions out of the box:Out of the box, the finish on the guitar was very aesthetically appealing and the case seemed to be top notch. There was no greasy feel at touching it or any cracks or breaks on the body or neck. All strings were intact and I was happy at just the overall look of the guitar.Impressions on playing:Well first things first. You need to tune this! That was the first thing I did when I bought this was tune it. I got it close to good by ear and then after that I tested out the fishman electronics. The tuner got it very close and it sounded good. Now a snark tuner or some others on the market will get it closer but for the price of this guitar you get what you should get and more. Once it was tuned and I got to play it I was more than happy. It has a very pretty, mellow sound that I just love. The strings on this thing are top notch steel strings as well, although I think for personal preference I might switch mine to elixir strings eventually. This sounded just as great plugged in to a sound system and just an amp as it did playing it by itself with friends around a campfire. I found a happy medium with the bass and mid settings finally and then it was just finding the right spot for your volume which can change depending on the sound system. This guitar is tough too! I can't tell you how many times I've hit it on walls or picnic tables or trees even. It hasn't even gotten a scratch yet. This guitar is a beast!Overall decision: I spent my money very well. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who wants there own first guitar or for someone who just wants an upgrade from their beginner without having to break the bank. This guitar is tough too!

Everything comes on board and works great.
I have been playing guitar off and on for about 15 yrs, and became more interested in it about 9 months ago when I started playing with my church band. I started playing my old Yamaha 310 with the band and had to adapt it to play on a sound system (added a transducer and then eventually an external pre-amp since I was getting feedback, also had an external tuner). After several months of messing with that, and a lot of research, I found this gem. I've been playing this for four months now and it is really refreshing to be able to show up to church, tune with the on-board tuner, and just plug in and play. No issues with feedback. After the first couple months of playing I noticed there was a buzz on my 2nd fret on the E string. The guitar comes with a wrench and directions, and the buzz was fixed with a couple twists of the wrench and has been great ever since. For myself as sort of an intermediate level player this is a very awesome guitar at a great price. The guitar case is also very nice (padded on the inside), much better than my old one.

quite nice
The guitar arrived inside the case which protected it perfectly during shipment.my first impression was the beautiful finish. I was hoping for a wider neck, for I have been playing a classic Goya for the last 50 years or so, and this seemed a little narrow for my working mans fingers. I am getting used to it though, and its ok. I would give it five if the neck was a little wider though. The sound is great with pick or fingers, and sounds even better with the amp. I found that it also works the amp with nylon strings which pleases me, and I probably will replace the steel strings with nylon someday. Was a little disapointed to find the "made in China" on the label.the built in tuner is great. Like it.
