Classic board game
It’s hard to beat this one; when everything is set up, it’s super satisfying to see it play out. The package came in great condition and appeared to be brand new.

Mousetrap
6 year old grandson had difficulty with game piece assembly bc it required more patience and careful handling. He also was not interested in the length of time it took to go around the board and activate the winning mousetrap. 9 year old grandson took over and made it more enjoyable and fun for his younger brother.

Beloved 80s/90s childhood game.
Granted, my kids broke a piece a few months after opening it at Christmas, rendering it useless, we had so much fun playing together and it was one of my favorite games as a wee one, I’ll be buying it again.

This is a real "retro" MOUSE TRAP game from Hasbro!
This "MOUSE TRAP" game from Hasbro is a true "Retro" version of the original game from Ideal Toy Company. This is the Original FULL SIZED version of the game, not the "reduced, miniaturized, compact" version that so many board games have become. The "game play" has changed a number of times since the original launch in 1963, which started with virtually no "choices" in play, to widely variable play along the way. This version of the game, which we got for our Great Grandson, is the very same style / size of the board game that our son had in the late 70's, and brings back a lot of memories. There are a number of "versions" of the Rules of the game that are available online to download, in the event you want to try playing the game "through the ages", just to see how our culture has changed over time in the gaming world. We love this game, and the nostalgia that it brings, and I'm sure that this MOUSE TRAP game will become popular with new generations as they discover the FUN it brings to "family night" gaming.

Great Game, But Keep an Eye on the Marble
My family and I have had hours of fun playing the Mouse Trap game. It's so much fun to build and play. The only real downside is that it's easy to lose the marble that is needed to play the game. Without it, the trap won't work, so make sure to keep a close eye on it!

Extremely fun, even for younger kids
My almost three year old received this game for Christmas. I know the manufacturer's age is 6, but she already builds with regular lego blocks so I gave this game a try. Of course, she can't play alone. She still can't read well, but she can operate dice, count and take turns so she could move her mouse around the board independently. With a little assistance, she was even able to add most parts to the traps. However, she did find it hard to remember picking up the cheese piece. We'll probably just skip this part of the game for a while. The trap fascinated her. I liked to see her try and operate the trap as we moved along the game. That's not part of the game, but she's still very young and I feel that bending some rules it's not too bad. When,at last, my mouse was in the right position to be trapped and she operated the crank she kept still with he her big eyes wide open...waiting to see whether my dumb mouse was doomed or not.... and it was. The trap worked and she, excited, jumped up and down. The only problem came when the game was over and we had to 'destroy' the trap. She absolutely refused helping me and looked at me with those angry eyes of hers. I don't think she understood that building the trap is part of the game. I know my child is probably a bit advanced for her age. However, I would recommend this game to children aged four or five to ten. Before, children will probably need a lot of assistance. Older children will find it boring, I think. After all the trap will always be the same. You can't build it in a different order. For older children, maybe, U-build Mouse Trap might work better. I read a few reviewers stating that children can't play this game alone. So what? As parents, we only have a few years when children actually want us to be around, let alone spending time playing together. This game is fun to play with your kids. I gave three stars for durability, because we've just had it for two days. Plastic parts seem tough. I don't know what to think about the cardboard cheese pieces. The four stars for educational value are due to the fact that building the trap is not very creative. However just operating it teaches a lot in physics.

A coveted game from childhood
I wanted this game as a. Hold but sadly never got to own it :( As well as buying my grandchildren individual presents I like to buy them one for sharing, usually a board game of some kind. As I live in Turkey and my grandchildren are in Australia I have to rely on their parents’ and their feedback. The feedback is good!

Great game
My grandsons loved this and we have played it often. It is a bit difficult to set up, but if you use an elastic band at the appropriate place (as suggested) it is brilliant. We considered this to be a good buy, despite some neagtive reiews from other purchasers of the cheaper one. I bought this one at the very much dearer price, hoping that it was the original as mentioned by other reviewers. As I said it did work with some fine tweeking by my 8 year old grandson! Worth the extra money if the other version is not so good..
