I've been using this with a 2017 MBP for approximately 7 months and its... OKThere are various annoying issues that appear often enough that, given the price, this will grate on your nerves.I originally purchased this to use with dual 4K ASUS PB287Q monitors, but have since switched to a single 4K LG 32UD59-B. I couldn't get both of the ASUS monitors to run at 60Hz, I could run one or the other at 60Hz but when they were both plugged in only one would run at 30Hz. I don't know if this had to do with OS X or the dock.My main complaint when I had the dual monitor setup was that sometimes when the device would wake up from sleep the resolution on one or both monitors would be wrong, or only one monitor would wake up and the other wouldn't. With the single monitor I don't have any resolution issues but sometimes the display will not wake up. The resolution issue could not be fixed via OS X's display settings, I would have to remove and re-insert the thunderbolt cable from my laptop one or more times.Often times the wired Ethernet port does not work. I couldn't fix it via OS X's network settings, I would just have to remove and re-insert the thunderbolt cable one or more times until it detected the Ethernet cable. This happens often enough that I don't bother with wired Ethernet. Also if the dock gets wiggled at all (like plugging or unplugging USB devices) the whole thing will cut out for a few seconds. I don't recall this happening when I first got the device, but it happens every time now. After the monitor re-connects I get the "Disk not ejected properly" notification for my external USB drive.I originally bought this because at the time this may have been the only dock I could find that would support dual 4K monitors. Now that I'm just using a single monitor I would probably consider purchasing something else.

Beware for two 4k monitors
I'm on 2017 MBP and I can't a 4k monitor to work with a DP to DP cable. It just flickers and a cuts out over and over. This means I can't run two 4k monitors. I can run a lower res monitor with DP to DP, but to use a 4k monitor, I need to use a USB-C to DP cable (of which you only get one with this dock). According the advertisements, alt-mode over DP and a USB-C to DP cable for the second monitor should allow two 4k monitors, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me.Otherwise, I'm pleased with it.

I agree - this is not the dock you are looking for.
Have had this for about 7 months at this point, and only seem to get more disappointed with this unit. I looked at all of the "dock" units when i was purchasing, and since purchasing for work, price was not a factor IF IT WORKED. Specs are great, features are what i'm looking for in a dock. But - i have an 8 month old MacBook Pro matched with it and every time that the system sleeps, my external monitor goes away, physical LAN is disconnected, usb keyboard disconnects, and i am forced to unplug and re-plug the unit to get connection / screen working. This happens multiple times per day. I had read this in a review before my purchase, so it was my fault for thinking that my experience would be different. I keep waiting for a firmware upgrade from Kensington to fix this, but no luck as of yet. Come on Kensington - this is a dock FOR A MAC. (I know because it says that on the box :-) ) The dock has power - so no need for this to not hold it's connection state during sleep - please UPDATE FIRMWARE or stop selling this version. So - for now - my advice is (sadly) to look elsewhere.

This is not the HUB you’re looking for. (MBP users at least)
Save your money. Loads of issues/quirks and simply doesn’t serve the purpose it’s intended to. Connected to my MBP (Late 2016) via Thunderbolt3, my 4K LG display can’t maintain a connection through the hub over DisplayPort, it detects it, adjusts the window(s) and then reverts back. However, if I connect my MBP, then connect the DiaplayPort it works great. Also works great using Apple’s HDMI dongle. Also, my external USB HD, when connected via the hub, if my computer goes to sleep the hub disconnects and I get the “failed to unmount” Error. Though, my disk seems to be mounted to the hub still because it never spins down. I’ve basically resorted to physically connecting and disconnecting all my peripherals as I would have without it, just don’t require (quite) as many dongles to do it... Super underwhelming!

Is not reliable. It is not simple to plug in my MBP, it will often drop the signal on my second monitor and fail to reconnect unless I unplug and restart both the station and my machine. I basically wasted $300 and then only made it returnable after 1 mont after purchase...now i know why, the problem cropped up early, and then around month 2 got worse and now at month 4 it is unusable. I want a refund or replacement, maybe I got a bum one? But sadly this is not an option and I don't think that's an accident. I think they know they make a flimsy product.

Works great! Make sure your'e plugging into the right port on your computer
Wonderful product; the only thing I wish was that it came with a longer USB-C cable as the one included is way too short unless you're placing the dock immediately beside your computer.Just a tip, for anyone experiencing connectivity issues, make sure your laptop has the correct TB3 port to plug this into, not all USB-C ports are compatible as there is a difference.

Not really a docking station.
does NOT transmit video signal through the usb-c (Thunderbolt 3) connection. your external monitors will NOT work through this station. Not a hub , really more of a limited switch. The cheaper models have the same flaw.
