Very informative even for a long time "Gopher".
I bought this as a gift for my husband who is a native of the Mesabi Range in NE MN. He reads a little in it each day and has said he has learned so much he never knew about the state he lived in 50 plus years. He is now into his third reading of it, as he finds it so fascinating. He promises he'll lend it to me so I can see firsthand why he loves it. He claims it is one of the best gifts I've ever given him.

Bought as a gift...kept for myself...
I actually bought this book to go in "Minnesota Gift Basket" I was making. I wanted to include this book because the basket was going to someone out of state. Well when I got the book I started going through it and couldn't stop! It is written in such a fun way. There are so many new and interesting things I learned about the state that I was born and raised in. I decided I couldn't part with the book, so I had to buy a new copy to put in the gift basket. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about their home state of MN, anyone who is moving/just moved to MN and wants to learn about this great state and anyone who is outside of MN, so they can learn we are not just a boring fly-over state.

Meh.
I didn't think this book was anything special; as a Minnesota resident I already knew 95 percent of this information. This would be a good guide to Minnesota newcomers, but for those of us who are already here, I'd recommend the sesquicentennial books published by the Minnesota Historical Society instead.

Since Minnesotans don't like to brag, it is good to have a book that helps tell people know more about the state. My only regret is that they let Michelle Bachmann move there from Iowa. Iowa's educational system is much better than that. I will now think about Minnesota every time I use our toaster. Give thanks for all the Vikings that settled there.

Love This Book
This book is great for anyone! Minnesotan or not. I am from MN and didn't know half of the facts and stories in this book. The writing is excellent. It is a must for anyone visiting, or living here in the good ole Minne-snow-ta!

Three Stars
I was expecting a book that provided ideas on travel throughout the state, but it was mostly about facts

Very good if you know nothing about
My daughter is a newcomer to Minnesota. She's leaving Rio, Brasil, to stay two years in Minneapolis. I decided to learn something about the state and city. The book helped me a lot.

Volkmar Proft
