Marshes & Swamps (New & Updated Edition)

This is the best illustrated short book on the subject. Excellent teaching about ecosystems. I am hosting book club and my book was ‘Where the Crawdads Song’ and everyone loved this parting favor to learn more about marshes where “The Marsh Girl” lived!!

Wonderful item. Great for summer program and our before and after school activity kits. We combined it with other items related so they could take it with them on trips.

This is fabulous like all her biome books. I just wish she would write one about the grasslands and the tundra.

This book was fantastic. The author shows marshes (salt and fresh water), swamps, and defines wetlands. She shows the types of plants and animals that live there and a little about how they live and what they eat. She also talks about where wetlands are located.We really enjoyed it and learned a lot of new stuff. The illustrations are good, but you'd want to pair it with actual pictures.Everywhere we drive now I hear "there's a marsh", "I think that's a marsh too". They are identifying all sorts of plants and animals just from reading the book one time.One of my sons wants to move to Alaska now since they have the most wetlands in the US. This book is a great source of information on the wetland environment. It was especially helpful explaining the differences in marshes and swamps. A great resource for teachers, homeschoolers and kids who like to read nonfiction.
