Great idea, no more gas lighters needed.
Worked straight away out the box, bought this candle lighter for exactly that reason. The battery seems to have great life, we have used this several times and not had to charge it yet. The battery indicator on the side is bright and easy to see. Beware of getting candle wax on the electrodes, it stops working!! I nearly returned the lighter due to this then realised what had happened, simply scrapped it off and works perfectly again.

A good alternative to fuel powered lighters
After having to bin the latest in 'refillable gas lighters' I decided to go with a rechargeable option. It seems sturdy, looks smart, and arrived charged and ready to go. I've used it a few times and still has at least half the charge, so unsure about the battery life, and have not yet recharged it so don't yet know the recharge time. Also it takes a couple of tries to get used to using it. You can't stick it to the candle wick like a gas flame. You have to get the arc touching the wick but not fully interrupting the arc. Try it and you'll see what I mean. But all in all, I'm happier with something that should not need to be replaced so often.

Good replacement for matches!
Bought this as an alternative when I run out of matches or lighter to light candles or fragrance sticks around my home. The first time I used it, for some reason it ran out of battery pretty quickly - I’m not sure if this is because I didn’t turn it off when not in use so the battery life drained quickly but when I fully charged it the second time round, it seems to have lasted longer. It’s easy to plug into my laptop to charge while I’m working, then take it out when you see all the blue lights lit up, turn it off and to put into the kitchen drawer till I need it. Its perfect - avoids getting burnt fingers that may happen when using matches! It’s good for getting into long candle holders too. However, I think it’s not so great for lighting up fragrance/joss sticks as it takes longer than a simple match...but I now first light my candles then use the candles to light up the sticks! 😅 simples!

Nifty little device works
I bought this to light my grill and replace my kitchen lighters which recently went dry.Plain and simple, it works. It's not as easy as a normal flame lighter. I have only tried with fire lighters like these ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07FF436N5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00 ). You basically have to have the lighter pressed up against the firestarter, and the button held down for about 2-3 seconds and you can see the small flame form. and then thats it. I'm excited that it is rechargeable so that I dont have to keep replacing lighters. When it's lighting, you can hear an audible zapping sound. It's not bothersome. in fact, it's a bt fun to hear it working.Overall enjoying it.

Excellent gadget.
I only took delivery this morning and have already started playing with it. It lights candles with no bother, and the gas cooker too. In the spring, I'll try it out on the incinerator in the garden. On the downside, the charging lead is ridiculously short, like 6 inches.Update: A year later and the males in the family have been fighting over it. Not for positive uses, but for setting fire to sheets of paper, hair and other dangerous games. They love it. I've had to hide it since last Christmas and now it's out again I have to keep an eye on it. They are all over 35 and should know betterWhat is it with men and fire? BBQs? Bonfires? Ask them to be useful though.....

Efficient
Quick charge (10 mins for full charge from my experience) lasts a long time on battery. One issue is that the two conductors can get candle wax on them which means the lighter won’t work until it’s cleaned. Other then that does as it says

Brilliant gadget for candles & even firelighters in a wood burner
I am so pleased I found this. I’ve always had those gas refill lighters and was fed up with them never actually refilling properly. The flame was always small no matter how often I refilled the thing and would go out if I tipped it down into a candle. I decided to search for a better one and came across this. It works perfectly for candles. I also use it for lighting those little firelighters in my wood burner. You do need to get the position right so be patient as it can be hit and miss. The sparks need to be able to touch the thing you’re lighting for a few seconds. I’ve bought another one for my daughter as she was so impressed with it. I’m throwing out those awful gas lighters. Charging my new lighter via our USB is so easy and so far, so good. Highly recommend.

Great but didn’t last long
We loved this lighter when we bought it but having only had it four months the on/off switch has broken and now leaves us with a lighter that doesn’t work. We use it most days to light our fire but wouldn’t consider that excessive.Until then it was a great bit of kit. If they could put in a switch with greater longevity they could be onto a winner.
