The media could not be loaded. So far, our new little robot is performing very well. He has been named Rupert. We spent a good part of the morning following him around to see how he does. Here are our observations so far:Pros:-Usual (random walk) cleaning mode seems sufficient to navigate the house. He managed to clean under our dinner table which is tricky because there are table legs, the legs of four chairs, our computers and cables to navigate. He also managed to escape again.-Minor obstacles: I was worried about whether he'd be able to get into the bedroom, since there are some rails for a sliding door (see photo), but he managed with no problem.-Suction power: We tested him out on bits of heavier paper and not only did he suck it up, he also automatically switched into turbo mode for a while, sensing that there were some resistant bits of rubbish that require extra suction power. He also managed to reduce the debris on our welcome mat, even though he isn't advertised for thick carpets.-Comes with extra side brushes and filter.Cons(-ish):-Poor Rupert had some trouble getting back to his charging station. He got stuck under the table and the only way out was to first go 90 south relative to the charging station, and then continue towards the dock. But I think he would have managed to escape if his escape route was in any other direction relative to the dock (we watched the poor thing struggle for a good 10 minutes).-The actual suction part is quite small, so the robot relies on the little swishing bristles to sweep dust towards the suction bit. Occasionally, this just flicks the dirt further away. But he does enough rounds to eventually get at the displaced dirt from a good angle and clean it up.-As far as we can tell, he has a distance sensor at the front, which mostly prevents him from banging into things head-on. He also has two "clicky" buffers on the front half, so that he can sense when he bumps into things. But he doesn't have any way to sense when he is reversing into something. So occasionally he gets stuck reversing into a wall/corner/table leg and doesn't seem to notice. But eventually he changes direction and continues on.General observation: Really good value for money. Cleans faithfully, as advertised. The cons are minor and the robot usually self corrects any problems that arise. More expensive models might be able to prevent these by incorporating extra sensors or having smarter navigation algorithms, but Rupert does really well with what he has and is quite affordable. Would definitely buy again.We haven't gotten batteries for the remote yet, so I can't say anything about the other fancy features like timed cleaning, navigating it using the remote, etc. And it's only been a day. But I will update if anything changes.

I have been pleased with this robot vacuum cleaner so far. The item came packaged well and feels built to last. This is further emphasised by the 2 year warranty provided with the product.I have always wanted to own a robot vacuum cleaner especially as cleaning after a toddler is a never ending task. Whilst there were better spec cleaners out there, this one was more suited to my budget. I was a bit surprised at how big this vacuum cleaner is, as i expected something small, but this should mean a better and quicker clean as it can cover more area.Firstly I am amazed at how well this works. From a touch of a button, this cleaner will just go around cleaning your home and when its battery is low will find its way back to its charging station and start charging again. I've tried this many times and am amazed how it always finds its way back despite being in another room. It also can climb small obstacles quite easily and gets out of tight spots to avoid disrupting its cleaning. I also liked the fact that when stuck or an issue occurs, it starts beeping and returns an error code, rather that forcing itself and causing damage to your property or running its battery flat. I also find it works better on hard floors than carpets.There were a few issues/dislikes I had. Firstly, if you press play on the vacuum, when the battery is low it goes back home. However, if you click spot cleaning, it runs for around 5 minutes and then stops where it is and powers off. I would have expected it to automatically gone back home rather than having to command it. The remote control also isn't great as you have to aim directly towards the front of it for it to acknowledge your command. There is also no indication light to state when you have selected turbo mode and rather you just have to hear out for the increased suction speed.Noise wise, whilst it isn't as loud as a traditional hoover, its not silent. So you won't be able to have a conversation without hearing it in the background. My advice when first using this cleaner is to watch it around the house to see if any obstacles cause it issues and it will help set up the room for future use. I found my medium pile rug didn't work well with this cleaner so I often roll it up.Whilst using this cleaner, I found my traditional hoover isn't picking up as much dirt so its clearly working. Time will tell how good this cleaner is, but for the time being I am pleased with this purchase.
