The rods are actually metal. There is a plastic handle at one end and other end has a plastic end it screws into. But the rod itself is metal and not plastic finished to look like metal. We will see if they get nasty and rusty...

Beautiful at first, but started rusting.
I ordered these from Amazon after buying some at Costco. I was very happy at first, but now I notice that they are starting to get rust speckles on them. Perhaps the toilet cleaner I am using is corrosive...........but what else are you supposed to be using to clean the toilet besides toilet cleaner?? I am not sure what is going on with them.

Sell made. A little difficult to insert the wet brush back into the holder but well worth the money for the two pack.

Rust, Rust, Rust
Looks nice, started rusting after a couple of months. Now I am ready to toss in the trash.

Dangerous packaging
Regardless of how effective these brushes are I can tell you that if they come in the double very hard plastic casing be very careful ! I severely cut my hand on the razor edge of the plastic package just by holding it in my hand! I took the product back without even opening it( at Costco) .I called the Polder company and they couldn't care less about this problem.I will not buy anything ever again that comes in the very difficult to open hard plastic package!

"Collectible" Toilet Brush???
This is a great product. I still don't understand the high prices being charged for it though. I originally purchased this for a LOT less at Costco. Has a toilet brush actually achieved the coveted "Collectible" status??😋

Very nice toilet brushes
Update 8/18 - Both broke at the bottom where there are screws into plastic. I used 2-part clear epoxy to fix them and they are working fine again, but I'm taking off one star.Update 6/17 - After a year of use in two bathrooms, they are still going strong on the original brushes with no sign of rust or deterioration. There is a new version out but I see no reason to update these; they will probably last me another 3 years or more.Original review: These brushes are sturdy and effective, with slightly longer and tougher grey bristles at the top of the brush. They are well made from a combination of plastic and metal. I like the 2 extra replacement heads to extend the life. As another reviewer (Dustin Pearson) pointed out, most of the handle is metal with a plastic handle on one end and a plastic screw for the brush on the other. It doesn't seem very heavy but Polder claims it is stainless steel on its website. If so, it shouldn't rust. The base is plastic with sheets of metal in the top and wrapped around the sides and 3 small foam stick-on feet that help keep it from sliding around on tile. The handles have a notch to hang from the slot in the top rather than sitting in a pool like some brushes, which helps it to dry out faster. The handle is long enough for easy use. They are about as attractive as a toilet brush can be! Got this set at a popular warehouse store.
