No I do not believe it can be used for rabbits

I only used it on my goats but would think it would be easy to use on rabbits

Is any special training required ? Is there a certain time frame that is best?

Unfortunately I have no experience with ewes as I have only used it on sows. Try looking up You tube. There may be a video showing how to use it for sheep. We did use to have ewes and we scanned at between 60 and 90 days but I did not have the Draminski at that time.. After 90 days it is hard to determine number of lambs. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
