A longer brighter life...
I have 5 of these fitted in down-lighters mounted in my bathroom ceiling. Recently one failed after 10 years...that is the kind of life one should expect from Dichroic lamps, but only if you balance the power rating to the lamp rating this is most important 'under-run' the lamp and it will fail early 'over-run' the lamp and it will fail early.Size for size there is not much to match the punch of Dichro lamps. These are the 38degree wide angle flood version will light a good sized area and as long as the throw of the lamp is not too large you get plenty of light to illuminate the space. My bathroom ceiling is quite low so these lamps really brighten the room, I could have used 24degree lamps to concentrate the beam. If the ceiling were higher I'd opt for a two extra luminaires and these 38 degree lamps to concentrate light on key areas wash basin, bath tub etc.A note of caution:Dichroic lamps run hot! Very hot, so make sure that you do not have anything flammable near by if you are mounting them in the ceiling. It is possible to buy a 'snood' to cap the bulk of the fitting hidden in the ceiling and this is required by current installation regulations. If I was specing the install now I would use modern LED lamps to cut the power demand and loose the heat issues, but still maintain a well lit space.

Good product.
I have three spotlights in my bathroom that use this type of bulb. One blew so I ordered these.First thing I noticed after installing was that it was a different light, not as white or bright as the old bulb.Secondly the first bulb lasted 3 days before it blew.So that was unexpected, the second of the pack has lasted OK and is still working now so may have had a faulty one in my pack that I happened to use first out of the pack. Can't find fault with the value mad although there is a mismatch in light tone and brightness to the other two it's working fine and does the job.

Great option to replace burn outs
Renting a flat had a number of these types of bulbs in the ceiling and sure enough they started to burn out one by one. Before we knew it, there were several that needed to be replaced. These were a great solution to replace them with.

Bright but not glaring
I bought the ten led bulbs to replace hall bulbs after one blew, and thought I should look to save money on energy usage. They arrived in good time and well packaged. Replaced the existing lights (GU10 20w halogens) and was surprised at how bright they were. Seemed like a bright summer day in our hall. Although brighter they do not appear to be glaringly bright and have now got used to the increased light. With other reviews commenting on the reliability. All ten have worked for me. They have been in for two weeks now and no issues.

Perfect for existing fittings at a good price
I bought these to replace the ones in my bathroom that had all blown over time. These have been really difficult to get locally since the move to LEd's and so was pleased to get these so quickly.

So far so good - bulbs easy to fit.
I've bought some cheap-ish bulbs from the likes of Home Bargains before and they've never lasted long - in one case they went kaput after a couple of weeks. These Osram bulbs, however, are proving to be excellent. Although the packaging could have been a bit better (i.e more padding/protection perhaps) they were very easy to fit and the brightness is very good. Let's hope they last the 30,000hrs they say they should.

Bulk buy for convenience
Bulk buying is convenient but not necessarily best value
