Detailed Review of Bosch GLM 35 Laser Measure
I’ve been searching for a laser measuring device for my own personal use for a while now. I’ve had a chance to use the Bosch DLR130K, and I was pretty much satisfied. So I searched it up on AMAZON, and it looks like most people were as satisfied as me. The last time I checked AMAZON, it had about a thousand plus reviews, and more than 70 percent of people gave it a 5 stars. However, lo and behold, AMAZON suggested a newer model, which was the Bosch GLM 35. This version did not have as many reviews yet. So I did a little bit of research myself. It had almost the same features as the older model, except that the range was 10 feet less. After some thought, I finally decided to get the Bosch GLM 35. The key features are as follows:1. Range: 120 feet. This is a little longer than the width of the old Panama Canal (oh, there’s a new Panama Canal ?)2. Accuracy +/- 1/16 inches. Over what distance? The manual says the following, “In favorable conditions, a deviation influence of +/- 0.05 mm / m must be taken into account.” I have to admit that I don’t have the means to test the device up to this level of accuracy. Even if you measure it against a steel measuring tape, and the measurements do not match, do you know if it is the steel tape or the laser measure that is less accurate? For most of my uses as a homeowner, the laser measure is accurate enough.3. Real Time Distance Measurements. This means that the distance readout is constantly updated as you move the laser measure.4. Backlight Display. So you can use it in the dark5. Area Measurements. You measure 2 sides of the rectangle, and it gives you the area6. Volume Measurements. You measure length, width, and height, and it gives you the volume7. Indirect Measurements. You measure one leg and the hypotenuse of the right triangle, and it gives you the distance of the other leg.8. Addition / Subtraction. You can add and subtract separate measurements.9. Batteries – 2 sets of AAA Batteries. Batteries are not included. What did you expect? The laser measure is small enough to fit comfortably into my hand. It is light as well. There are some rubber pads on the sides and corners which give me a firm grip on the laser measure.Overall, the Bosch GLM 35 met my expectations, and it performed well. I consider this device a useful purchase for situations where a steel measuring tape would be inadequate or cumbersome.

Cool thing to have
I haven’t used it much, but I am impress. Easy enough to use. Responds time and accuracy is impressive, smaller than I thought it would be, light weight also. Overall I’m happy with purchase. Times to give some things I would like to have. First, I think all laser measure should come with target card to maximize use. to get a target card independently would cause around $30 which is to me expensive. Still very useable without, but I’m getting one some how. 2nd, this Laser measure struggles outdoor. I can still get a reading around noon, but takes awhile and I’m not 100% confident in its reading. somewhat cloudy day and it was wet on the ground so I didn’t test with a tape to see for accuracy. I just know I can’t depend on it with it struggling to get a reading. I don’t know if I can rectify that problem or not without upgrading. Last, the fraction reading is small no matter how I look at it. Not sure why it’s not displayed larger. I have very good vision. I don’t have problem reading it but it slows me down a little. If you can get on sale it’s totally worth it. i think it performs really well. if you can upgrade, I would. I’m not 100% confident in its durability and it’s lack of ability to throw light outdoor does make me rethink about ordering a higher model. In the end I figure it’s cheap enough for me to keep and have fun with it. Really really cool gadget to have. Happy with it.

Better than the tacklife
I got this on cyber Monday sale. I wanted to get this one in the first place but instead bought a less expensive model. When this one dropped to the price range of the less expensive model I picked this one up, as well. So much for saving money. Anyway, the laser is slightly easier to see in the daylight, with laser glasses. Don't even bother without the special fancy glasses, that are less than 10 bucks. Things I like about this one over the Tacklife that I got, it defaults to continuous measuring, or in other words it will show constantly show you the distance it is reading, you can then press the button to record the measurement. I also like that it remembers your settings. the Tacklife each time you turn it on you have to tell it to stop beeping at you and choose the units you want, unless you are lucky enough to want the units it defaults to. Downsides of this over the tacklife the tacklife button is easier to push. when you are trying to hold the thing steady on a small spot 60' away, this is a big deal! but this is not too bad, especially as this one shows you the measurement it is reading, so can the tacklife but it is a different mode you have to go into. Speaking of that mode the tacklife has a min max mode, which is nice. If you are measuring to a corner or a surface that is closer than all of the background then you can kind of wiggle it around, hitting the spot that you want and it will remember the min and max measurment. This can be a nice feature for certain situations. All in all if I did it all again, I would probably buy just this one and not the tacklife, mostly because of the better visibility in the daylight.

Works well indoors but hit and miss outside ....
This item works very well for indoor measurements. However I have had mixed results outdoors. If you are pointing it at a large flat object like a wall it seems to work good. However, I was trying to use it to measure the distance from the pitching rubber to home plate a local ball diamond and despite the fact that I was using a 2' x 3' piece of plywood as a target, I couldn't get a reading. On the other hand, how often are you going to do something like that and I'm pretty sure it wasn't designed for that kind of task. It is very compact and feels good in your hand and very simple to operate. All in all I am pretty happy with my purchase.

It's a laser
It's a firkin laser. First time user so until I saw the laser dot I wasn't sure how it worked. It has a laser emitter and a mirror sensor side by side. Used tape measure to very accuracy (either they are both correct or they are both off). This unit doesn't come with pouch but needs one to protect emitter and mirror sensor from dust and damage even though they are slightly recessed in casing. I don't want to shove measure in pouch of screws or nails only to have them punctured. Light weight, small, and backlit screen; for price not bad.

Works great.
Very accurate. I checked it against my tape measure alot on the first job I used it on. It was never wrong. As a matter of fact it measures down to 32's and I only need to go as low as 16's.It saves me alot of time measuring work spaces by myself.Only trouble I have is the writing is very small. If you have poor eye sight you will need your glasses to read the small measurements. The model I bought did not come with a case so i built one from a old drill bit case and some packing foam.I don't imagine it would do well bouncing around inside a tool pouch or tool box for very long.

Make's measuring a breeze.
This is a great little measuring device. Very easy to use. Very accurate. Compact size makes it very universal to measure in side smaller boxes or in closers. One thing that is a bit to the negative is the button to set the measurement can be a little hard to push some times depending on how you have to hold it but the pluses off set this by far. Would recommend this product. Very happy with the purchase.
