IFB 20 L Solo Microwave Oven (20PM2S, Silver)

I have used IFB microwave for 9 years (model 20PG1S), that was a solo microwave and I was very happy with it. Not even once did we have to repair it. Last week the start button got damaged, cause of of course continuous use for 9 years. We called the IFB technician and he quoted us that 3000 rupees. He said that along with the button, the inside panel had also been damaged and the circuit board needed a repair. We didn't trust him at first and next day called a local microwave repair person from our area shop and he too said the same thing and quoted us approximately the same amount as the IFB guy. But we thought might as well buy a new microwave than spending 3000 on the old one. So we sold that microwave to that local repair guy for 700 rupees :)I was pretty sure that our new microwave had to be an IFB, after looking at all the models and comparing them and also getting confused between buying a 17 litre or 20 litre we bought the IFB 20PM2S for 5999 from the Amazon seller 'Jumbo Deals'We compared this model with the 20PM1S but we liked this more cause we just use our microwave for heating the food and defrosting frozen food. We don't cook or grill as we have a separate grilled and oven.This microwave looks good, and is well built. The touch buttons are soft and the writing in them is clear to read. Inside the sides and corners are curved and have zero gap. It's chrome finish from the inside. The main reason for buying this model and not the 20PM1S was that this has the feature of steam clean and deodorize. And this is cheaper on amazon than 20pm1s. People don't buy this model much.20PM1S has more cooking options as the IFB website states, but it lacks steam cleaning and deodorize feaures. I would personally recommend buying 20PM2S over other IFB solo machines. I love this machine.The packaging was magnificent, and IFB provided an idli maker and a container as starter kit. I installed the microwave on my own and called the IFB helpline to register the microwave for warranty. This comes with one year warranty on the microwave along with the buttons panel plus three years warranty on the magnetron and the cavity which are the important parts of the microwave.IFB executive on the phone was ready to send someone for installation and demo, so it doesn't matter if u buy it from a local dealer or online e-commerce, u will get the installation and demo from the authorized IFB technician.Buy this model or any other IFB microwave according to ur choice of features, cause no other company, even the likes of samsung and lg give 3 years warranty on the magnetron and cavity. Only IFB gives u that :)

IFB.. people, dont have to say much brand itself speaks. Product is good, delivered on time. But for installation and demo IFB team took long time. Only that part was frustrating. Amazon is good, got it at a good price and would recommend it.

IFB Solo 20 ltrs is a great one for small family and basic use of microwave. The sound is not much and the operations are quite simple and easy. Hope the after sale service would be good from IFB since bought from Amazon vs a dealer per se.

Horrible quality. Stopped working in a year. Magnetron is under 3 yr warranty. Company technician claimed magnetron was ok and fuse and other components were bad and quoted 3k to repair. On taking second opinion from urbanclap their technician said magnetron and fuse was bad and fixed entire thing in 2300 out of which 2000 was for magnetron. So ideally IFB should have paid for it and we should have to pay only 300. This is cheating the customer. Horrible.

It's an excellent value for money product. Been using now for a week without any issues. Though this is a solo microwave but still options to cook a lot of basic food. Cooked peas pulao going by the recipe book and came out very nice. Must buy if looking for a simple solo microwave oven.

Does exactly what a Solo MW should do - Heat up the food quickly,evenly and effectively. One star less bcz firstly, seems over priced - got it for 6500/-. compared to comptn, solo 20 L should have been sub 5500/- , and secondly the buttons esp the plastic parts are too delicate. dont know if they will last more than six months.
