Standard Horizon MH-57A4B Mini Speaker Mic

Small, compact, decent volume, and works well with my VX-6R. I use it while paragliding, and as long as I hold it with the mic downwind it is very legible on the other end

Works well, good modulation, clean crisp audio. Positive signal reports.

I have read the reviews and I still love the size of this mic. Even if your hands are larger, there should be no problem keying the mic. Very light on your collar, when you have to clip it. If they have open boxes, save your self some money.

I got this microphone to use on my Yaseu VX7R. The radio is completely waterproof to 3 feet,the waterproofing membrane covering the internal mic degraded the audio quality a little. There were some modifications you could do to the radio but I didn't feel comfortable taking the radio apart and losing its waterproofing so I got this external mic, it works great for what I need.

I bought this for use with my Yaesun VX-7R, while the receive sound is good, the transmit is not so good. Everyone had issues with a distorted sound...sadly. For the price it is okay...but just disappointed in the transmit sound quality...oh well...

This speaker/mic has great sound but is tiny. I mean really tiny. I would have given five stars if it were a little bigger and fit my hand better. I do have big hands, but this thing looks like a kids toy. But again...good sound quality on both receive and transmit.

This speaker/microphone model MH-57A4B does not in fact fit the transceiver model VXA-220 even though the advertisement reads that it does. I took it to my local FBO and had them review it and looked up online compatibility and this model does not work with VXA-220. The correct speaker/microphone is MH-44B4B. I'm waiting to see if the seller will give a full refund or full credit toward the correct speaker/microphone. If not, I'll just dispute the charge with my credit card as false advertising.UPDATE: This seller falsely advertised and I did not get what I ordered. Amazon responded "so what, contact seller" so I did. I also informed my credit card of the problem to stop payment. The seller did respond and admitted false advertising claiming mistake and offered full refund if mail back item. I mailed back item and seller said they were not paid by Amazon so they will not refund. "Chatted" with Amazon worker who said I already got credit over a month ago according to their computer. Called my credit card company who said Amazon lied, no chargeback or credit. Now waiting for credit card to try and resolve with Amazon. This experience REALLY diminished my trust in Amazon since in the past the return/refund policy when not getting what was ordered was quick and easy. Now I'm comparing Amazon prices to local stores and even if Amazon cheaper I'm considering the 5-10% price increase to shop locally worth it because of Amazon's poor return / refund policy (and it seems LONGER shipping times).

I have gotten great reports from this mic. I was concerned about getting an inferrer product with sellers overseas selling for a lot less. I wanted a good quality mic and went with Yaesu. I haven't regretted my choice. Great quality and construction.
