Still in love
*Update at the bottom*I caught this on sale in Jan. '18. Pretty much every day since the day it arrived I have played a combination of FO4, Skyrim, Sims 4, Minecraft, Terraria, and all of the Nancy Drew games. (Odd collection of my usuals...Don't judge me.) Along with random games from time to time like Ark, Assasin's Creed, WOW, etc. Not to mention I also use it daily for work purposes. The backlit keyboard is a huge plus along with the customizable scrolls and taps via the touchpad.I was concerned even with reading the tech details about how this would handle FO4 and Skyrim since they are such massive graphics hogs but honestly have had no issues at all. The gameplay is seamless and beautiful. I am pretty rough on any rig I have but especially laptops so over the last 10months I have left some dings but it has taken it well. Soon I will have to invest in another power cord but again I am rough on it. I'm not sure if it is just me or weakness of the cords but there is a blue ring that lights up if it is plugged in on the cord itself and where that bit of frosty plastic meets the black cord has separated. It has not caused any actual issues in its practicality so I haven't worried about it much.Every program, meaning aside from my games, opens extremely quickly and I have had little to no issues with Windows 10. It runs a little hot so I would suggest a fan set up but honestly, this is the best laptop I have ever had.I fully and completely recommend this to anyone wanting a good gaming rig but can't afford the higher-end setups. All in all, it's 100% 5 out of 5 stars to me. I will update this as time goes on though.*Update*It's now August '19 and this is still my all-time favorite laptop. It runs just as quickly and beautifully as the day I received it. For the last few months I have been heavily obsessed with ESO and while I sort of want to set up an extra screen to see my discord as I'm going, the gameplay itself is brilliant on this laptop. I did end up giving in and purchasing a power cord but for the moment I still have my old one. I use the old one at home and the new one at work. While the old power cord isn't pretty it is still fully functional.I stand by my original rating: 5 out of 5 stars for me.

Honeymoon is over
UPDATE: I loved this laptop for a while, but a few problems cropped up as it turned two years old and was out of warranty. Now the honeymoon is over and we fight like an old married couple due to some of these problems. The most annoying of these problems is a wireless adapter that just "disappears" and "reappears" without warning or any discernible cause. My internet connection will drop. I will curse my internet provider and then look at the taskbar and it is as if I have no wireless adapter on the machine. I wait patiently for a few minutes and it will come back, connect to WiFI, and along we go until the next fight. It happens when I am using it. It happens when the lid is closed and sleeps. It happens at least daily with mild to moderate usage. It is a known issue and Dell has offered no solution other than a BIOS update. Newsflash, it didn't work. And several little gremlins have crept in and caused minor annoyances.Granted I have had this machine for only a week, but here are my initial impressions. The 128GB SSD makes this thing boot up like lightning. My MS Word application loads almost instantaneously. It has the typical Dell bloatware which is fairly standard for Windows PCs. I am still working through what to keep and what to deep six. The screen is not the best, but for the price it is great. It performs quite well for the specs and I thought it was a great price. The form factor is fairly standard for this size laptop. It does get a little warm, but so do most laptops. I am not enamored with Windows 10, but that is not Dell's fault and so far it is running all my legacy programs including Adobe CS4 applications like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro. So no real complaints about Windows 10.Some of the reviews suggest the fans are loud on this machine. I have no issues with noise at all. I can't hear the fans, but do feel the slight air flow from the vents. While I do like the red backlit keyboard, I do wish it would stay on at all times. When I look down after a short period of inactivity, I have to tap a key to light the keyboard. A small annoyance.I have not put it through its gaming paces as most of my games are too old to run on Windows 10, but that is not why I bought this machine. I do have some concerns over the durability of the laptop as evidenced by a couple of reviews here, but so far it seems as sturdy as my previous machines. I am treating it with kid gloves, however. No reason to tempt fate and it should be treated carefully for what it cost and what it does.On balance, you will not find a laptop with a trusted brand name with these specs at a better price.

Nice with affordable price if you are using it most of the time with external screen.
The product itself is good, but for my application (which is using it most of the time as desktop with external display with WIn10Pro installed). The pros are:+ powerful hardware (for 90 % of my applications it is more than sufficient);+ strong battery (in most cases it can work more than half of working day without chrging);+ it is easier than MSI GX640 I had before. The cons are:- if you are not using external display most of the time than the screen is awful (can be fixed with substitution of the screen which some of the users indicated in their feedback, but that is additional cost you should add to the pricetag of the product);- noisy under high load (even with cooling pad);- the chassis is claimed to be metal but it is plastic in fact;- the most of the users that installed Win10Home has a lot of bloatware and works not in excellent way, so you should consider substitution for Win10Pro in default state as I did.- some of the elements looks flimsy.Again, 4 stars which I give to this product is only dedicated to my application of the product.
