Never used an epilator before...
I spent an enormous amount of time researching epilators. I have used razors all my life and just got tired of them. I have very thick hair and shaving was just ridiculous and waxing (which I did twice, did not suit me so well). I finally chose this item for the cost and number of tweezers. The larger number means it is more able to handle thick hairs. In this case, there are two speeds..low for fine hairs and high for thicker hairs. For all those out there who want to know about pain…well, you better prepare yourself because this stuff HURTS! My threshold is pretty high but after many ouches and @#$#@!!!, I have come to the conclusion that this product works, big time. It works for me personally because in my 48 years and more than half of that time shaving, I have NEVER EVER gone 10 days without seeing seriously quick regrowth. My follicles on my legs holds about 3-4 hairs which makes hair growth immediate. I usually only have 1 day or rather that same day of smooth legs. After that, the hairs starts growing like weed whether it is spring, winter summer or fall. Second, the slight stubble I have after the 10 days are not uncomfortable at all to the touch (which is NON existent even when shaving or waxing). The biggest thing about this product that is absolutely unequivocally NEEDED for results is PATIENCE. I literally allotted a Sunday and started one leg and spent close to 3 hours. (All cases are different, I have A LOT of dense hair). Everyone's hair growth is different so using the epilator in many directions is needed. One time around is not enough for me but maybe for those with very thin and fine hair. This was a major process but I am really impressed with the results. To not shave on a daily basis is a HUGE gift to me and for that alone I will continue to use this product. I have to mention that in my first use I only used on legs and forearms. The forearms were far more painful and challenging because you have to really maneuver yourself so that you are holding the skin taunt and use the product. Even though I am somewhat ambidextrous, it was still challenging and needed the backside of a chair for assistance. The bikini area and underarms have yet to be seen but I will keep you posted on that too..PRO's: * regrowth takes a longer time and with less hairs too. * it is corded so for those who need a LONG time you do not have to stop and recharge (THIS IS A HUGE HUGE PLUS) * easy to use, self explanatory, just follow directions to the T and you will find your "own" rhythm for it takes time to adjust to how the tweezers work on your hair. * easy clean up with enclosed brush and pouch for storageCON's: * LOUD…I was very self conscious of the noise this little device emits but it is what it is.. * time consuming but worth it. * there IS pain so just brace yourself. Pulling the hairs from the root is NEVER painless but in time you adjust to it.Make sure you are always pulling your skin taunt because YOU WILL FEEL IT when you don't. It is challenging when you use this on your forearms and my upper arm skin literally got caught in the device!! So please follow directions and you will see the results..you may not get all the hairs and your skin may not feel as silky smooth like shaving does but when I weigh the pros and cons it is ALL WORTH IT for my needs!! I would give it 5 stars but the noise made it four instead..

Meh, ok.
First off, if you are new to epilators and have never waxed, let me warn you that this will hurt. It gets better the more you use it, but you have to really want to do it. If you try this on a whim, you'll probably give up and never use it again. On to my review. This is the first epilator I've tried, so I have nothing to compare it to. I bought it because it had decent reviews and was low-cost. I figured if I gave up using it, I'm not out too much. At first, I almost did give up. But I took breaks and slowly worked my way through it. Now, I enjoy it. I don't like hair removal creams; they are stinky and don't remove all of the hair. A razor does well at removing the hair, but it is a hassle bending around to get all the right spots, and I always end up with some cuts. Waxing hurts--a lot--and leaves my skin very red. A foil shaver works well, but you have to use it on a regular basis to keep up the results. I chose an epilator because I wanted something I could use less frequently but was as easy as a foil shaver. In theory, an epilator succeeds at this, but only if it works. My biggest problem with this is it doesn't get all of the hair. I don't know if this is a problem with epilators in general, or just this model. I go over an area multiple times--each time my skin getting more sensitive--and there are still a few strands of hair. There are 2 types of hair this is especially bad at removing: thick, course hair like on you upper thighs or pubic areas, and very fine hairs. What is really bad about the thick hair is it will yank at the same hairs multiple times and still not remove them! Regardless, this will still remove a lot of hair; I have the red bumps to prove it. Yes, you will likely have a lot of red bumps after using this. Don't worry, they go away within a day. I'm surprised it doesn't get the fine hairs. This means I still have to shave my arm after tweezing. As for is other function... not worth it. Don't even count this as a 2-in-1. At first I thought the shaver was ok--hair was coming off after a few sweeps--but my skin was left scratched, red, and even had many tiny cuts in some areas. I don't recommend using the shaver unless it's a last resort.A few final points.- I was using the epilator in the pit of my leg and it snagged my skin. It was painless and I easily pulled it out, but now I'm nervous it will happen again.- If I had to describe the pain of having my hairs pulled, I think I would say it feels like ant bites: tiny little burning sensations.- For me, this hurt the most on my hands, feet, and upper thighs.- Some people complain this is not battery operated. But keep this in mind, if it was it would be larger, heavier, more expensive, and you may lose charge in the middle of it. I'll take plug in any day.Ok, well those are my thoughts. I gave it a 3 because for its cost, it does do an ok job. It doesn't do a good enough job that I'd recommend it to anyone other than those trying to save some money. I will save up for a better epilator next time, or maybe I'll just stick with a razor/foil shaver combo.

it saves time so I like it.
It does pull my hair at the tips but it leaves a few very sshort strands. I was hoping that it will take at least two weeks for the hair to grow back but it takes a short time to grow, especially the ones I have to clear with the stubble remover. Nonetheless, it saves time so I like it.

Not satisfied.
Used this for a year now. This was my first epilator and at first I was satisfied. It did its job and removed most hair around my beard, moustache, pubic/crotch, and inner thigh. It didn't remove everything, maybe 95% of the hair. It left enough that I will consider still prickly, so the rest I just plucked off with tweezers.Recently I used my girlfriend's epilator, one she got from walmart for half the price and it did a much better better job. Her epilator removed pretty much everything, which I will consider smooth. This changed my mind about this epilator where I am no longer satisfied.

Works better than expected.
Can't believe the power this machine has. It is small, but mighty. Replaced my Optim model, which was more expensive, but did not work as good as this one does. Lasts long in between shavings too. Can use on your face too.

I just got it today and I'm happy with it
i used one almost exactly similar from babyliss, which is a eu model of 220-230V. i bout this b/c my voltage converter failed. I just got it today and I'm happy with it. it's faster than my 4 year old babyliss, and smaller making it more compact. I'm used to epilation but this machine runs smooth and didn't pinch any skin parts. nice product! I didn't know this brand so i was worried about the quality but it's better than other models i've tried.

AMAZING
pros: - comes with a pouch that holds all pieces in one place- the two speeds really helps "easing into it" when you first start out- effective, it doesn't take too long- the option of the trimmers is not something I had with my old epilatorcons: - really, nothing that I can see and I've had this for over a year now
