First let me praise the TopGreener customer service. As I have mostly low voltage 12V&24V lighting (let down from 110V transformers), I checked for dimmer compatibility before purchase and they tested suitability for me. When I later had a problem after re-configuring my WiFi they patiently helped me re-pair. They have knowledgeable Techs, not read-the-script phone answer-people.As for the switches them selves, I find the need for many up-clicks to achieve full lighting illumination a bit of a deficiency; but as these are being purchased for modern-day WiFi application, this does not take away any stars. I like the feel of heavier-construction and (screw-pressure) connectors compared to other switches I have purchased. This eliminated some wire nuts and freed space in wall boxes. My house had heavy gauge wire everywhere (including neutral and ground), restricting space.Controlling the on-off and dimmer settings with the Alexa Andriod App works great. The Smart Life App is almost a good, and configuring using Smart Life works well, just read the six-click reset in the instructions. I like using the Alexa "location routine" and Ring motion detector/Alexa routine to turn on lights upon returning home. I set-up many routines for sundown-dimmed activation. A side note, I found reverse functioning between the TopGreener App and Alexa on my three-way TopGreener switches with Alexa always being correct (so, I deleted the TG App).The Tech alerted me to time-outs in the set-up algorithm, so read the instructions up front and don't dally while setting up. I replaced some of my single-pole WiFi switches from a competitor as I preferred the TopGreener configuration of the indicator light "ON" when lights "ON." The competitors versions, with indicator lights "ON" in a dark room, became annoying unless you need a "night light."For beginners, make sure your phone is on a good 2.4Ghz connection when pairing...my phone would jump to 5Ghz, preventing pair. Install a WiFi Analyzer App to help know what you have. My Alexa existed before the light switch upgrades.*****Another side issue for beginners. Not all LED bulbs are compatible dimmers. It is not the dimmers fault. Buy a test bulb before buying a case (if others fail, try Ushio).******The couple of extra dollars for these units is worth it. Alexa: "set foyer lights to 50%" work great (although I normally use the APP).

I've tried several WiFi smart dimmer switches and this is the best one I've found. The on-off and dimming functions work smoothly and once the switch is loaded in the app it integrates well. Which leads me to my one complaint about this switch. The switch does not self install in automatic mode and the teeny-tiny installation guide does not tell how to get the switch in AP mode, this has been the same for three switches I've installed. I don't used the Topgreener app (I already had several WiFi smart devices set up in another app) but only found out how to put the switch in AP mode by installing the Topgreener app - which provides those instructions. Also, beware of the notification function, once turned on I have not found a way to turn it off short of uninstalling and reinstalling the switch in the app. However minor annoyances for what is a very good WiFi smart dimmer switch. One other really big bonus with this WiFi smart dimmer switch is that it can be used in single pole or three-way applications (with additional remote switch). Recommended!

I have other Topgreener switches Ive installed in the past issue-free, but these were a nightmare. The actual installation went ok - But getting the Topgreener app to find them was impossible. Over an hour wasted. So I finally called Topgreener, they were VERY helpful and it’s appreciated. But what leads me to write this review is that Topgreener themselves told me their app was having problems and I should download a third-party app called Smartlife. Once I did, it found the new switches and my existing ones no problem. Love the switches, but if you are recommending I use someone elses software with your product - Not very reassuring. I couldnt find anything online to help so maybe this will save someone an hour.

It took a while to install the dinner switch. I had to add a neutral line extension for it, which was not an issue. Everything hooked up right. Hot line into hot. Load into old. Neutral into neutral. Ground into ground. Power back on...switch #1...DOA. Air gap slider did nothing.Power back off. Remove and replace with 2nd dimmer switch. Power on and it worked. Got everything connected through the app. Turned off the lights and went downstairs. Came back up a few mins later and the lights won’t turn on. Switch is not connecting to the app on my phone. No LED. Nuthin!!!Return initiated. Piece of junk. Don’t buy.

These switches are quite easy to install as a 3/4-way IF...-you have the compatible TGWF3K Add-on switch (otherwise it will not work as a dimmer)-you have, as previous reviewers have pointed out, a neutral wire on the circuit in each gang box.-you route the load line back to the TGWF500D switch as the load comes off this switch, not the add-on side as a typical dimmer circuit does. Note: you should have a 3 wire connection between your existing switches so simply use the red line in that wire to route load back to the 500D main dimmer.It is disappointing that Amazon/TopGreener does not explain the need for the TGWF3K Add-on switch in any of of documentation here. Also, Amazon is out of supply and has been for a LONG time of these add-on switches. You will probably have to purchase the add-on from TopGreener directly as I did.Also do like that this doesn't turn into a night light due to the LED that some smart dimmers have on them. One I bought from GoSund is so bright we have a perpetual night light in the bathroom. Would drive us nuts if that was in a bedroom!
