My buddy asked me to stop at a west marine store, on my way to a one week fishing trip, and pick him up this filter for his boat. Instead, I ordered through Amazon, got it in two days, and at a price cheaper than the store. You can't beat that. Convenient, cheaper, and it worked. Good for Sierra, good for Amazon, good for me & the captain.

If your plastic see through bowl falls off, it's the BOWL. Mine fell off into the bilge and wouldn't stay on. Since I didn't touch this since last season. I checked the bowl and searched on line and found others with same problem. Gas and ethanol seem to cause this problem, the threads taper inward after a few years. I bought a new bowl now no problem.

I too had a bowl that wouldn't hold the filter. I thought the filter was the problem, but when I looked at the bowl I could clearly see the threads on the bowl had tapered in. A caliper proved my theory. Gas and plastic don't work well together. Don't blame the filter. It's the bowl.

If you have neglected this replacing this and the old one is corroded in place removing the old one will be a challenge, installing the new one is quick and simple.

Saved a ton on these...I usually get them locally but they are twice the price...so I am thrilled..plus they deliver them to my house for free...
