Great Value, Saved me and my Home Theater
The 6 DB gain is necessary for me to get good punch. It replaced a 400 Watt Bob Carver, Sunfire Amp that died after 15 years of service on my massive 15" infinity HT Sub. Didn't want to toss it, so I got this and resurrected it. For what I paid, it was worth every damn penny. Might not be exactly the same, but I'm impressed. It's almost impossible to fill a massive front room on a Slab with 18' vaulted ceilings, with Bass. This guy, in tandem with another HT 15" makes it all possible. I recommend this to anyone who loves their sub, but lost their AMP.

don't blow it
Was an awesome amp before I blew it up. Now getting it repaired cost as much as buying a new one.

Blew 3 amps.
I ordered 3 of these amps (not through amazon). All three amps are blown. Sadly I live in India and am now unable to get replacements so the three subwoofers are now amp-less.The 3 amps each fed different woofers. One was for a TC Sounds 15" woofer, the other for a TC Sounds 12", and the third was for a SEAS L26 10" woofer. Each woofer was in a separate box.Since I cannot get similar sized amplifiers in India, today I am forced to run my home theaters without the subwoofer. That said the SD 500-6 was NOT my first choice. Initially I had planned on the BASH 500 (see link) but these were not available when I was looking. http://www.amazon.com/Bash-500W-Digital-Subwoofer-Amplifier/dp/B000CCSX5A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1394438597&sr=8-2&keywords=plate+amplifier+bashI would strongly urge getting the BASH 500, they cannot be more unreliable than the SD 500-6.

I bought this amp about a year ago. It ...
I bought this amp about a year ago. It was pushing a 10 inch Dayton audio reference series high output sub with little effort it would shake the house. For some reason or another the amp just shut off and won't turn back on. I think it has to do with the fragile parts being exposed to the vibration of the sub. If you are planning on mounting this unit I would suggest mounting it in its own compartment away from the air movement. For something that is so powerful you would think they would have the circuitry a little more protected.

Yung,a amp plate worth attention UPDATED 3/10/14
Bought this bad boy before X-MAS so i got a really good price(120+shipping!). I needed something to drive my APLINE TYPE R 1222D(DVC2+2ohm) in a custom 4 cu.ft box tuned to 23hz,and man oh man! This amp delivers!Hits the lows really good, shakes my couch, rattles things everywhere including upstairs, shakes my SHARP 60in mounted on the wall. With the help of 6db@25hz,it adds a kick in movies.I took the gamble of this brand and i am pleased.Dayton 500wrms plate was my choice, but, the class-D,etc. caught my attention. This amp is used with 50%music 50%movies,music such as rock, could be a little better but techno music this is a party pleaser. As for movies, its very interesting to hear and feel low bass that you never heard in your favorite movies with a budget sub.By the way,i own a BiC F12.This amp does not get hot!I abuse it heavily. So,if you were in any way curious about this amp getting thrown into your DIY sub project, take my word for it,you wont be disappointed.By the way,i am ordering another one of these bad boys as i have built another box for my other TYPE R.Thanks for reading,CHEERS!UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ok,this thing is pushing my Mach 5 UXL18 inch sealed woofer in a 4.2 cude box and this thing is putting out out some major major sound.I also have a miniDSP connected. Very pleased with this solid product. Keep in mind that my Behringer iNuke 3000 that i had connected to my UXL died trying to push the sub,and this, this, is pushing it harder continuously around the clock without loss of power. Hands down, now if only Yung made a 1000WATT+ verison,i would be sold.

I purchas the sd200 200 w D class before thanksgiving last year. I got the amplifer at max every time I cut it on and it hits hard. And very stable and durability is great. I mean I beat this thing to death. Know because It durable I am going to purchas the SD 500 500W RMS unit so the amplifer doesn't have to work real hard. Oh I am running a JL Audio 12W7 2v in a custom vented box tune to 23Hz. I figure more power more shaking the house. Putting me in the middle of the movies.
