The Berenstain Bears' Moving Day

Definitely would love my grandkids to read these books. I got my boys into reading these too.

My daughter and her family are moving soon so I sent this book to my grandsons who are 3 and 5. They love it and read it every day.

I bought for my four year old grandson who was moving, he wanted to read this over over after the move, he loved it

We have been preparing for a big move to another state for quite a while. We have a 2.5 & 4 year old. We read books about moving just about everyday to prepare them for such a big move & I do believe it helps immensely.This particular book is wordy in some areas, especially in the beginning (this kind of stuff drives me nuts). I also feel it’s a bit repetitive in areas not necessary or really relatable for children. What I like is, that it addresses some important things. And the book has sparked questions & conversations with our kids.Two things stood out to me. First, they talk about packing everything & not leaving their things behind (my kids have really worried about leaving their things behind). Of all the other moving books we read this directly talks about packing ALL their things, including brother bears toys & books.Second, brother bear asks about leaving friends behind. The parents then express how they are leaving their friends behind too but how they can stay in touch with them by writing or visiting. The parents also talk about making new friends & when they get to the new house brother bear find plenty of other cubs to become friends with.I also want to mention that they move into a fixer-upper. They don’t go into detail with the fixing of but at the end it’s all beautifully fixed up.Other moving books to check out (all on Amazon):Boomer’s Big Day by Constance W. I am a Realtor, and I gave this as part of a closing gift basket to new homeowners with a small family. The night before they moved, they read it all together. The parents were so grateful, and it eased the stress on the children. This is a well done, very helpful book for anyone moving with children.

Currently in the process of relocating from Oregon to Colorado. My 4yo loves books and I thought this would be a great way to introduce him to the idea of moving.We read it atleast 4x a week. And he always has more questions about our moving. Recommend for sure!

This find was perfect for a glowing gift in a new house for a client of mine.

My son seemed very anxious about our upcoming move. We read this book and it gave him a much better understanding of what was taking place. When the movers came, he was very excited and said we are just like the Barenstein Bears!

Really helped in the process of moving home with our 20months old daughter. Nice story. We bought 2 more moving books, but this one was her favourite.

Easy to understand for children. Great story if you are moving and have to explain the experience to your children.

Used this book in conjunction with our grandchild's recent move - he loved the story, he asked all kinds of questions about his own move and now months later this is one of his favourite books. Highly recommend this book.
