Excellent belay device. It is very easy to load and with ropes in good condition it operates very smoothly. With some fatter ropes with bulging spots (gym ropes that need to be replaced) it has locked up and needed to be unstuck by using the trigger opening on the cam plate. It does take a little practice to get used to the safety feature in the lever. Overall I would definite recommend it
