Great device; know how to use it.
This is a purposeful device that is sold on other sites for $100+ even though it's the same thing. So first thing's first, assuming you want to ferret out hidden cameras and transmitters, buy it here.In order to use the RF detector, you first need to unplug or turn off/remove batteries from all known transmitters in the house, like your router, your Xbox, computer, phone; any wireless devices around thus eliminating many false positives. Then you turn the sensitivity knob up and walk around sweeping the place, adjusting the sensitivity as you get closer and start to hone in on what's generating the signals. If you live in an apartment turning the sensitivity all the way up might lead you to a neighbor's router on the other side of your wall, so keep that in mind. (Supposedly it has a vibrate mode, but mine didn't work.)To test, try holding it near your phone and turn the sensitivity down just until it stops making noise. Then send a text or do something with your phone. You'll see the LEDs on the front light up like crazy while your phone is transmitting. You can even use this to find your phone if you've lost it on silent by having someone call it and adjusting the sensitivity down (starting from high) until you narrow down the location. The camera detector: there is nothing "laser" about it, just some flashing red LEDs. Turn the device on and turn down the RF sensitivity knob; the first visual sweep doesn't use it. It relies on you using your eyes - you look through the device's red filter while the LEDs flash, and the filter will highlight any red bounce-back reflections created by the LEDs while darkening most other things. You're looking for a bright pinpoint of light reflecting off of a camera lens. This works exceptionally well once you know what you're looking for. (Holding down the "laser" button will make the LEDs cycle through faster and faster blink modes.) If it's a wireless camera, the RF detector might make noise on approach if you turn the RF sensitivity back on.It is also effective in ferreting out liars and story weavers who insist they are famous, being harassed all the time, and their apartments are bugged. Just the mere plausibility of being able to help hunt down and clear up their "problem" is enough to put that to a halt. (Best $12ish I've spent in awhile.)The rechargeable battery is a nice touch. Neat little gadget to have on hand.

Waste of money.
The whole theory behind using this to find hidden cameras lenses is flawed. Does not work as advertised.

Don't think it works
I would not recommend anyone buy this. It did arrive quickly.

Sometimes It Works, Sometimes It Doesn't
I purchased this item in full price (unlike most positive reviews who received it for free in exchange for a review). The device do not work all the time, and it can not detect all devices (i.e phones, Bluetooth headphones ..etc) even though its frequency lies within the coverage range. Moreover, you won’t detect hard-wired devices, so it is not reliable if you are looking for a 100% confidence level.Bottom line: Why buy something you won’t trust?
