Tech-ie Gear for a tech-ie mom/son
I purchased this watch for my almost 5 yo, so far so good -- but I would like to note that set-up is a MULTI-STEP process, not for the faint of heart (when it comes to tech). So I am writing a few tips/steps below that might help.Everything seems to work as promised. The GPS is sometimes spot on, other times a few blocks off, but close enough for my comfort. This product has great features for my son such as GPS, pedometer, camera, and limited calling/voice messaging. For set up of the device (the instructions are poor, but there are good answers on the Q/A on Amazon that helped guide me through it.Here is my advice:- Open and Charge watch (mine seemed to come with some charge, but I did this anyway, with success)- Purchase SIM card, I got the Speedtalk, GSM mobile, GPS Tracker SIM ($10 for the "$5" card), with auto refill option- Follow directions to activate SIM card online (BAM! Your kid has a local phone number, write it down!)- Set up monthly auto pay on SIM card (I chose $5/mo), and "favorite"/save the website so you can return later and renew/delete/whatever ya need- Place activated SIM card in watch (push till it clicks)- Turn on watch- Download SeTracker2 App on iphone- Create SeTracker2 name/password- Swipe to "app download" icon on the WATCH and enter the QR code or # on the PHONE app (I had to use the number, QR did not read)- On the app, the bottom center "settings" button has most of the features in it (this was not intuitive for me). Here you can add phone numbers, SOS #, enable do not disturb features, and change the time/zone (FYI: for California, click West:GMT-8:00... I had to guess around to figure that out)- To activate pedometer, on APP, click the 3 line menu on the top left, click health, click walk, turn the switch on- if the GPS is off a bit, click "locate" on the APP and it should updateSeems like a TON of steps, but I am pretty patient with technology, so not too bad. I should mention that every now and then when I made a change on the app (or added a phone number), it notified me that device was 'offline'. Having the watch screen 'awake' and retrying seemed to solve that.I love the look of it and got it all set up in about an hour. For roughly $50 -- I am excited about this watch! Hopefully my son loves it and it lasts for a while. :)

Works Well... Once You Figure It Out!
There are a lot of "Firsts" to consider with these "off brand" watches, but... it does work once you figure it out.It took about a day to finally get the SIM card to work with an APP to get full function of the advertised capability. It was not as "plug and play" as you will most likely want! I say "an" app because the one listed in the manual DOES NOT WORK (for me).I used the SPEEDTALK SIM with Voice/Data, set up the phone number per their instructions, and to simply dial the watch, it works just fine... BUT... to get the features working with the APP - for example, to set up the contact list of acceptable numbers the watch can DIAL (and not just receive) - the app in the instructions per the watch did NOT work (Se Tracker and Se Tracker 2). It is missing the most critical part to connect the APP with the SIM cards APN network... the feature in the app simply is not there. There are ZERO instructions where to set this (if it is meant to work), however, the SIM card holder does tell you that you need to do it! so... after some digging around, I found the Watch Watch App which has almost the same skin as the Se Tracker - but this one has the settings to set up the APN to the SIM card. Once I found that - it worked.GPS location - it is advertised to be 0.4 to 5 miles based on LBS (towers). I'm not getting the sense that there is a GPS beacon in the watch, to the apparent accuracy discrepancy is understood. But- i also found it to be spot on when left on the network for an extended amount of time. So - expectation management - you might get it within a few houses, up to a city block on average...Construction: It does not feel to be made of high quality materials. It feels very light material, plastic watch face, etc... The SIM CARD/Charging slot has a flimsy rubber cover that would not protect it from water. It's not advertised as water-resistant and that's a good thing, because I don't think it would stand up in a hard rain. Consider it a good - under $50 test case for the kiddo's first phone/device. Don't take it to the beach, pool or tropical storm if you want it to last!Sound: receiving a call - it sounds fine. no issues. On the device - the sound isn't too bad for a watch. It does what it needs to do.Texting: I don't know if it's because of the APP that I had to use, but I don't see any pre-defined TEXT messages that can be sent. It has a VOICE messaging capability that allows the wearer of the watch to send a short voice message which gets stored in the primary parents APP. From the APP, you can see all of the voice messages, however, from the watch, it is not clear where to see voice messages. that part seems like a design error (or simply a skipped focus). it's not very useful.TIME BLOCKING: The app allows you to set up periods of time to disable the watchs ability to dial/receive calls (during school for example).GEOBUBBLES: From the APP, you can set notifications to inform you if the watch has moved out of a pre-set zone.OVERALL: once you get through the hurdles of the APP / SIM card connectivity - it is a nice starter tech before giving out a full functioning phone!

Very poor quality
I was excited about this watching phone. It is light and looks nice.Unfortunately the microphone in it is extremely poor worth lots of interference. When when my son spoke slowly and loudly all I could hear was a mix of microwave, lawnmower and Sledge hammer. Defeats the purpose. Returned.

Don’t buy
The watches interface is very childish, my 10 year old even thought so. Most of the features of this watch like remote picture taking, remote listening, and sending hearts of love no longer works unless you buy a $50 unlimited subscription! I guess that’s how the company who makes this watch gets you.

Great Customer Service!! Granddaughter loves the product!
Bought for my granddaughter for her birthday and she loves it! Every day after school she calls me to let me know where she is and I love being able to immediately find her. She loves and uses all of the many other features as well. Customer service is amazing too!! Her puppy chewed up the watch band and she was so upset! I contacted the company and they responded immediately sending her a new watch!! Unbelievable service! Highly recommend!
