We are getting ready for winter and this is an important step. We have used this before and it works great to keep ice jams from happening.....we just needed more product!

Product was easy to install came with all the hardware necessary. Very happy with product.

I shopped around for a while as the price of these are not cheap! I had bad ice dams last winter and installed over the summer. Follow the directions for spacing and use the included clips to secure it to the roof. It has lasted the whole winter and still intact.Pro tip: use it with an outdoor smart plug so you can turn it on/off as needed. For my electricity bill, it cost about 3$/day to run the whole time. I would turn it on for 3-4 hours as needed when it snowed and had no issues with freezing all winter!Additional tip: be careful with the amperage - the longer the cord the higher the draw. Most circuits are 15 or 20 amp, so take into consideration when decided how to add to your home!

Was fairly easy to install and seems to be working great with the thermostatic plug I have it plugged into. So far I have not had any death-cicles hanging off the roof. And no ice dams either. And this was about half the price of the same thing at Lowe's, Home Depot and Menards. Overall it's been working good, but also we have had a relatively mild winter here in Michigan.

It does nothing, doesn’t even melt a thing. Contacted the manufacturer, asked me to return….but they are frozen to the roof

Like others have said here they do NOT get very warm. It takes a long while for them to actually melt the snow and the ice in the gutters.. During the first snow they actually got buried while it was snowing so I thought it was all over for sure.. I left them on over night and they actually melted the snow off the eves and kept the gutter from freezing solid. This was a very small Utah mountain storm so we will see how it does when we get a good one. It was about 19 degrees over night and today it is 26 and they are working just fine. I will update this review once we get a nice 20 inch snow storm and then see how it goes..EDIT.. 3-1-22... These no longer work. None of the wires have come in contact with each other but they just stopped working. I have used them about 6 times total. Now I have to replace them...

Works like you'd expect. Way cheaper price than any in-store version. At least in my area

Installed and appears to work. Not sure how much heat is supposed to be in the cord but it is warm to the touch, barely. Will see over this winter how well it works and prevents the ice buildup we normally get.

This product has alleviated “ice damming” on our back roofline that never sees the sun. Good value for money as well as I had shopped in local first and couldn't find the length I required...but what scarce inventory I did find in local stores was very pricey compared to my purchase.
