alpicool update.
Got this in june 2019. We have been using it off and on last year on our RV.. couple week here and there.. Now the end of may 2020 we went fulltime in our RV and this has been in use full time. We use it as extra refrigerator space and for a place to put tall stuff.Be sure to check the reviews for the hidden setting info. https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3BF0LCRFSOJ0K?ASIN=B073WYS3TRthe unit has been sitting on the floor of our RV on the roads of NY, PA, OH, NH (lost 2 hub cap of truck and 2 off RV) so it has been beat around for the past 2.5 months and still keeps on running. It runs as either a cooler or freezer depending on your temp set point but not both.I have it plugged into my 12v port that is appx 12 ft from the batteries(12 ga wire) and the cord on the unit is appx 9 ft long and looks to be 12 ga so the voltage drop is appx 2.5 volts when running so if you set the battery protect setting at 12.5 it will shut off.. I put mine at the lowest which is 9.6v.. and have no issues with battery voltage down to 12.1 volts at battery.Overall for the most part it a good product that seem to be a tough cookie.. :)LAST but not least.. after you get the product do NOT plug it in for at least 12 hrs.. WHY.. ??? it could have been put in a truck upside down ( I found mine on the front porch upside down despite the UP arrow) so take it out of the box open the lid to let it air out and let it sit for the day.. that allows the oil to go the right place when you start it up.. >>>UPDATE: so here we are in Dec of 2020 and some now 8K+ miles of RV travel with this sitting on teh floor bouncing around, sometime crazy stuff, and still going strong. I put some non slip stuff on the bottom to help keep it some sliding around when we travel.. the space inside has been a real treat when we go to like costco and have 3 containers of OJ and 2 Qts of milk to store when you have a 8CF refrigerator to begin with.you will get some moisture in the bottom over time so we pull everything out and give it a good clean every couple months and especially before a big trip to costco for sure.If i were to replace it I would go the larger 2 section unit the Alpicool T60 to more freezer space which reduces the refrigerator size by some. so far so good.. :)UPDATE: Sept 2022.. so here we are again with an update.. this unit has been one of the best item gotten in a long time. it works every day all day and the extra storage area is such a help when you full time rv and have a Sams and costco accounts.. :) you can stuff a lot of stuff in it to help .. runs off the batteries which are now 230 Ah lithium.. we look forward to many more years of usage.. i do blow out the fins about once a year or so when we clean it out and take outside to do. it get unplugged and I take the covers over and blow the dust etc out of the fan.. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE it.. :)UPDATE... Oct 2024,, shortly after the sept 2022 update, the unit started to show frost up near the top above the compressor end. We had to replace it as it was not able to maintain temp.. suspect it was a slow leak causing the problem.. went to alpicool website to get slight discount and free shipping.. oh course the delivery guy left it on friends door upside down.. flipped it over and let it sit of 3 hrs or so before plugging in to allow oil to flow back to compressor. plugged in and good to go.. a great addition.. highly recommend.. New or second unit was placed in service 5-12-23.UPDATE... 4-27-25 the now second unit direct from Alpicool is starting to show issues. Within the last month I was noticing the temp display was showing 50 deg and unit was running a lot.. things seemed to stay cold and when checked with thermometer was keep temp around 40-32.. now we have a line around top that look like frost which is not normal.. compressor runs constantly using a lot more battery watts then before.. Might have to switch to the more expensive Engel or National Luna brands at some 11-$1200 but seem to be overall better according to many reviews from overlander type that tend to use them more. At this point some $500 spend on these 12v compressor coolers and looking to spend another $250 I am close to the lower end cost of the nicer coolers..If I had done a bit more research and money was less a problem back then, gone with a higher end unit like the 1. NL or 2. Engel or 3. dometic. I have learned over the year you get what you pay for.. better to buy once and cry once .. :) We plan to be full time RVer for the foreseeable future maybe getting a place for winter in southern AZ yuma area and travel more in spring to fall stopping for harvest job in the fargo ND area for couple months then heading south to nc then tx and AZ. i will keep updating this page as we progress and will include new cooler whatever brand it may be.. :)

Highly recommend.
I returned this one and got the 30L version instead. I searched long and hard and found that at the time these stainless steel C series models of the Alpicool line provides the most usable space in the most compact footprint of all the many brands sold here on Amazon and other websites. The unit is whisper quiet and while it only uses marginally less watts than the average while operating, it operates very infrequently due to its very good insulation. Highly recommend the C series from Alpicool.

Barebones 12v fridge but works well
Cons - no interior light, Celsius reading only, no interior basket or organization dividers, 12v cord may slip out of power source.Pros - energy efficient, pretty quiet, holds temp well, solid construction, pretty basic modern design and colorThis is my 3rd 12v fridge. I have an ARB and other much cheaper off brand found online. Both work great for what I use them for. Only reason for this purchase was to get a fridge that fit a certain space in a pop up truck camper. I needed a fridge that wasn’t expensive, with modern subtle colors, energy efficient and opened a certain way to allow for use within the space I have. This fridge fit all my needs and works well. It doesn’t have many of the other options you’d get by spending a little more money but it does the job. One of the most unexpected things is it’s solid construction. I unexpectedly use this as a step to get in and out of the bed portion of my camper. The metal housing and solid plastic top allow me to step on it with confidence (although I’m sure it’s not recommended to use this fridge as a step) it handles the weight of an average sized person (200lb and less) without budging. Ended up using my ARB 12v cord with 2 prong screw in adapter to avoid disconnecting power in my Jackery 500 when hitting a few bumps. The power adapters appear to be identical and interchangeable. I recommend this fridge if you can get used to reading Celsius since Fahrenheit doesn’t seem to be available. No matter though since most of these fridges readings are off by a few degrees anyway. Best to set the fridge at about 5 degrees above freezing, then check it often when first using it to see if it’s set to your liking. A separate temp gauge that you leave inside and check periodically would help until you get used to the temp settings and fluctuations.

Works great and reliable so far.
I've had this cooler for a few months now and I really like it. I use it for my frequent camping trips. A few hours before I plan to leave I load it up and turn it down to about 25 degrees. When I arrive at my campsite, usually around two hours or less, I then crank up my generator and turn it back on and the temperature is usually around 40 degrees. If you are going on a long trip then of course you will need to find a power source until you arrive at your destination. I was somewhat concerned about how much it would hold, but when you don't have to use ice there is plenty of room for a couple of days of food. So much nicer to use than an ice chest. I haven't had it for a long time but hopefully I will get a few years out of it. It is not noisy but it does have a low hum when the compressor is running. It doesn't bother me because the A/C in my camper is much louder and drowns out the sound completely. I think it's a good value, especially when compared to the Dometic line of coolers.
