Dance Fairy Belly Dance White Colorful Yarn Iridescent Isis Wings

I bought this for my 11 year old Granddaughter, Faith for Christmas. She originally wanted angel wings with feathers but I was hesitant at buying the feather wings because all I could imagine in my head was that sooner or later there would be feathers all over the house. I was somewhat disappointed when I opened the package with these wings in it. They were more of a shimmering yellow instead of the blue as shown and also they came without the dance rods that fit inside the wings. I gave the wings to her and her mother went to Lowes and bought small wooden dowels that worked GREAT,for only 88 cents!Because it has rained almost nonstop this entire winter, she was unable to go outside and dance with them and there is no room in the house to twirl around without knocking things off the shelves. They are HUGE! So the real test came this New Years Eve. Every New Years Eve in the quaint town of Oriental, N.C., they have their annual Dragon Run. At 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. they let the dragon out of the shed that it stays in the entire year until then. It is a huge Oriental Dragon and people come from all around to enjoy the festivities of dancing in the street, playing music and of course the Dragon Run. My daughter-in-law has taken my grandchildren the last 3 years and this was my first year. A hour and a half drive to touch a dragon seemed boring to me but I went along. When the Dragon Drummers started beating on their drums, people would start gathering around beating on pots and pans and dancing. We went to the car and got the wings and my granddaughter put them on. She started dancing with the wings on to the beat of the drums and the crowd stopped everything they were doing and gathered around her as she danced. This shy little girl with low self esteem had found her freedom. People thought she was part of the show and she danced and danced and twirled in circles almost like she had taken dance classes.A choreographer from New York was there and immediately took to my granddaughter. Newspapers from other towns wrote articles about her and took pictures for the Newspapers.This is by far the best item I have EVER purchased! She has been dubbed the :"DRAGON GIRL" and the wings are dubbed "DRAGONFLY WINGS". She can't wait for another one in a different color and I can't wait for next New Years Eve. These wings certainly draw attention to a gal! I'll start with the 'bad' first - the collar is cheap and miserable. It is very scratchy and the weight of the material tends to make it pull and choke (I have a tiny neck, so this is saying something!) but I'm getting around all the discomfort by pinning the velcro ends of the color to the straps of my dress - problem solved! They look just as nice this way and I'm not miserable with a creeping heat rash on my neck. They are not as green as the photo implies but this is not a bad thing. Definitely white with a green and pink flash to the material when it moves - which I find much more effective than a straight metallic color anyway. When wearing them, you won't see the effect of the flash as well as your audience does unless you're performing in front of a mirror. I bought a couple of wooden dowel rods from the craft store for 50 cents each and didn't even need to cut them down - they work perfectly. I would certainly recommend this accessory and look forward to trying other colors sometime.

Very pretty wings, not AT ALL the color in the photo, in case you're wondering. I will attempt to upload a photo of what they actually look like.They are very big though and that's what I needed.

I really liked these! I purchased them to use on my model for a Faerie shoot. The neck piece that holds the "wings" to your body get attached with velcro so they are a bit scratchy and I didn't want my model to be uncomfortable (or to have to edit out the neck piece) so I just attached them to my model's shirt/bra straps in the back. My complaint is not about the quality of the wings. My complaint is that they do not come with the wands in the wings for your hands to hold. I assumed based on all the photos that I was getting what I saw so when only wings arrived and no way to hold them up, I was frustrated. I had to quickly struggle to find something in replace, which ended up being wooden dowels. The material of the wings is great. Very beautiful. All in all, I got many compliments. I just wish the listing was more clear so it would not have been a rushed dilema.

Very very nice. The wings are big and do fit in the size that they specify. It is very shiny material. But it isn't that weak, it will be sturdy. I bought the one that brings the rods and they are great. They are retractable. They will look great on stage.

Wore this to a festival and received so many compliments and requests for pictures! It looks especially pretty in the sunlight. I'm 5'5" and the bottom just skimmed the floor a bit, so be careful if you're shorter and/or if the ground is dirty. I threw it in the wash (in a mesh bag) and hung dry, and it still retained the pleats. Also, I added elastic to the ends of the wings so I could loop it on my fingers and not have to worry about carrying collapsible sticks everywhere.

The product shipped fast and is very pretty. The picture is misleading and should be changed. I didn't even notice that the description headline does say that it's white, I was looking at the picture and assuming I was getting that pretty green color. That's my fault for not looking more closely or assuming white was just part of the name of the green :) It's still a nice product and on second thought white is a better choice since it will match more costumes. Only disappointed because I didn't need another set of wings at all and only ordered because of the picture
