I am impressed.
I just got this. And I like it.My purchase was influenced by the reviewer that mentioned he used to have a Torpedo bag. I also used one for years, but sold it with a trumpet a few years ago. I missed that Torpedo bag, but I just couldn’t afford a new one of those. Most bags don’t have much padding and offer very little protection. They aren’t much better than a pillow case with a zipper and handle. This bag has ample padding, but more than that, it is a stiff padding that will protect against bumps better than soft foam like you might find in a craft store. The interior is nice and soft. The horn is held snugly in placeThe bonus is that it will carry a couple of mutes and some sheet music or my iPad.It is still a gig bag, not a hard case. But I needed something light weight with a shoulder strap. I will probably not use the backpack straps.

Super Impressed! Actually Fits a Real Trumpet!
My son showed up from school with ridiculous hard shell trumpet case that was literally taped together at places and practically had to be "hugged" to keep from flopping open while being carried. No good for a mile walk to school. We tried one of the less expensive trumpet cases on Amazon but it just didn't meet the requirements. It was a touch too small, so the instrument was pressing at the seams and the zipper looked strained. The cushioning was minimal. It was just really awful. This Protec is exactly the opposite! It's big enough with just enough room that the trumpet's fit is comfortable without the bag being too big for a 12 year old to carry around. The padding is "just about right" -- I can guess that a kid can be pretty tough on his equipment and this is obviously no hard shell, but after a few months of use it seems up to the task.He loves that it can be carried slung across his torso (so also while wearing a backpack), or it can be worn backpack style, or carried like a suitcase, or worn over the shoulder like a messenger bag.It has pockets big enough for his sheet music and notebook, his chapstick, the mouthpiece, and whatever other little doodads he carries as trumpet accessories.Grade A+ piece of trumpet carrying luggage we got here.

Great case(wanted to steal it from my daughter)
This is a great soft pack gig bag for my daughter to carry her trumpet and accessories to and around school. My daughter is on the small side for her age and does a lot of walking throughout the day at school, so carrying a hard case was a little much for her.I loaned her my Protec case I purchased in college until Christmas. When we received this Protec case in time to wrap fro Christmas, it was hard to not just keep this case for myself and allow her to keep my old one. It's has plenty of room for trumpet and accessories (including a mute or two). The sheet music pocket would be great for a tablet or sheets of music, but even a smaller folder would be a squeeze.All-in-all, this seems to be a great case, and I'm still trying to figure out how I can talk my daughter out of it.

Favorite case
I was using a torpedo bag for years. Great protection, but I got tired of having to lug everything else in a separate bag. This bag fits everything I need all in one. My iPad fits in the music pouch. Plenty of space in the other pouch for accessories, a couple mutes and other sundries. I have the protec mute bag and just clip it on to this bag when I need a little extra space.

Good buy
Nice and light weight. I like the options of handle, shoulder or backpack straps. I can fit my trumpet, but not all my muted. My trumpet fits kind of snug. I play a Benge. I would consider carrying a mute bag if you need more than two. There’s no place dedicated to mouth pieces - I currently use one of the zipper pouches.

Light weight but protective
This seems to be a pretty well made case. The padding is thick and the lining is soft. The fit for my trumpet it tight enough to feel secure but not overly tight. I like the music pocket. I can fit my iPad Air in this pocket with room to spare. I do wish the other pocket was a bit larger for more comfortable mute storage (the picture is misleading.) I can fit a practice mute ok, but any more than that would be tight. I like the vertical (subway) carry strap. The clips for the straps are questionable. This is a great in-town case, but I wouldn't travel with it if there's a chance other luggage could be stacked on it.

Protec Does It Again
Great single trumpet gig bag, especially for the price. The zippered pockets have plenty of space for all of your stuff. You can even fit a couple of mutes in there if you need to. The single shoulder strap is super comfy and ergonomic and it even comes with the option of double shoulder straps to wear the case like a backpack. My only gripe about this case is you have to put your horn in "bell-first" as opposed to "leadpipe-first" but that's a personal preference. I use K&M trumpet stands that fit inside the bell so you have to use gravity to your advantage so the stand doesn't come out of the bell.

Love this case!
I've been playing a trumpet for 27 years, and I have been using this case almost daily for about two years now. It's basically still in mint condition! It's very sturdy for a gig bag, but I wouldn't fly with it.I had been using a Protec hard leather case since 2003, which I very reluctantly updated for this because of the need to carry a laptop to gigs on a bike. This new soft case fits the bill perfectly. In addition to the horn and my little box of valve oil / mouthpiece / etc, it can hold a two of the following: - coffee mug - straight mute - cup mute - breakfast burritoIf you're looking for a case that has backpack straps, can hold a folder/laptop, and has some additional storage, this is a really wonderful option. :)

Top light bag to secure a trumpet, easy to carry on your shoulders, even on a bicycle
I was looking for a solid but light case for my son to carry his trumpet riding a bicycle to school. I simply found the "perfect" one. I would buy it again
