Are the wall hooks adhesive or do they need to be screwed into the wall?

The wall hooks supplied need to be hammered into the wall. I didn’t use them but bought some 3M hooks which are easily removed if I want to move the panel.

Is there a way you could clips these boards together?

They can just be placed together with the wall hooks supplied

Not able to make holes in my wall, can you use sticky tape to hold display on the wall instead?

I think tape would struggle to hold the metal grids, especially when you will add more weight by hanging items on the grid.
