APC Rack Mount PDU, Switched Rack 100V-120V/20A, (8) Outlets, 1U Horizontal Rackmount(AP7901)

APC has built these devices well, and even though I had to buy used ones, I was really satisfied with them.They are rated for 18A though, even though they can be plugged to a 20A source. An since you should not go over 80% load in general, this was okay for me.Also two other notes:- Make sure you get the device password reset (apc/apc) before having it shipped. Otherwise it requires a very specific and hard to find serial cable (I had to build my own from a generic one)- Also make sure the web interface and all other ports are behind a firewall, preferably in a private network. Being very old devices, they are likely to have many security holes- Even though you get individual port control, the load meter is for the entire PDU. So there is no easy way to measure individual servers' load, except for turning them off / on to see the differenceOverall these are nice and sturdy devices that should last a long while. One final thing the rack ears can be mounted both ways, and you can have the ports either looking inside or outside the cabinet

Perfect for my application. I needed more UPS protected outlets on my radio equipment rack and this was the perfect fit. It has no On-Off switch, which I wanted to prevent accidental shutdowns. Rated at 20 amps and with five duplex receptacles it adds a lot. It comes with the two brackets and screws if you want to mount it on a standard 19" rack. The cord is quite long as well at 12'.

We bought this to use in a rack with a UPS. The UPS has standard 15 amp outlets which did not work with this unit since this has the 20 amp plug on it (one vertical, one horizontal slot). If you need a standard plug with standard outlets, then go with the AP9562 which is cheaper as well. Otherwise, this would work well with a high amp outlet.

Great PDU, easy to install. Perfect for rack mounting, great quality.Will be back for more as we update out rack PDU's.We use APC for our infrastructure, mostly for consistency but we went with these because of our experiences of quality from APC.

This device works great for our need. We needed a short form factor to be able to mount this inside our server rack.

The box I received was the APC box, but the seal was broken. The way it was packed, I can tell all pieces were removed, but not put back properly:No plastic bag protecting the PDU.Cord was shoved into the spacer box - OEM does not pack the cord like this.Rack mount ears are supposed to be in the spacer carboard, but were loose.Supposed to have 8 screws for mounting of the ears - instead screws were not in their own bag and one was missing.The unit also had the test results taped to it, however there was another Test Result paper from a UPS found inside the box.
