Radius Garden 20301 Pro Ergonomic Stainless Steel Digging Fork, Blue

Didn't make it a month
I have been buying garden forks from estate sales for $5-10 each. They last a year or two before a tine breaks off. I thought I would step up and buy this stainless steel garden fork with a life time warranty. It didn't make it a month. I use it for digging out weeds in my flower beds which are clay soil and pretty moist this time of year. I have been using garden forks for 60+ years and never had one break off at the handle base. Do note that Radius return policy is customer pays the shipping. Not so with Fiskars.I am 6' 3" tall and the handle is normal length. I have a Fiskars Ergo D-handle Steel Garden Fork (47 Inch) at the beach house and it is a dream for me to use.

Heavy
This weeder worked for what it's supposed to: It's good for tap-rooted weeds like dandelions or sow thistle growing between other plants or between stepping-stones, where a regular shovel would be too broad and dig up too many other plants/ not be able to fit. However, the shovel does not prevent you from having to bend over to pull the weed up, and because its so heavy it's awkward to put down/ pick up again between weeds. Therefore I only use it when I absolutely have to (For larger weeds with deeper roots) and prefer my weeding fork for all other tap-rooted weeds, and my regular shovel for net-rooted weeds and grasses.

Hi quality very excellent heavy-duty weeder
Very heavy duty. Sturdy. Much longer than any weeder I've seen. Large handle at the top. Footrests toward the bottom to push the narrow blade into the ground.Dug out some monster weeds without effort. Goes deep to get the root. Doesn't leave a giant hole in the ground which is a good thing.Surprisingly heavy, 4-5 lbs? Might be a prob for some, but don't think it'll ever break or bend. The price seemed really high when I ordered it.Now that I've seen it, used it, it's a gift. I'll probably never have to buy a weeder again, and my descendants can inherit this monument.Wish I'd had this years and years ago, I've easily broken every weeder before this.

Heavy, but amazingly effective and indestructible
I just received this thing about an hour ago, an hour spent on digging up some the biggest gnarliest weeds that I ever dreamed I could get out with anything short of a huge cast/forged mattock and some serious collateral damage. Worried that I might bend the long slim blade, my worries looked foolish after seeing the huge strong back of stainless steel welded solidly to the back of it. This thing will not bend! Yes, as one reviewer stated, it is heavy, I disagree with their assessment that it is poorly balanced, but yes heavy enough it will be an impediment to me (I am a small person) carrying it around as much as I might want for an occasional tough weed I might encounter. That weight is what makes it work. If they made a slightly smaller version, say 2/3 this size it would be perfect for me. Same seller does have smaller weeders, but they have too broad of a blade for my needs, and are not stainless steel which I prefer. As is it is a superior tool.

Medium duty only
I really wanted to like this Garden Fork, It seems well made and I really like the handle design. I wouldn't call it a digging fork, it seems to be for ground that is already loose. I hit a root that was about the diameter of a pencil and it bent one the forks. I am very disappointed, I have used different cheaper garden forks for about 40 years now and have never seen this happen. I have put them through a lot and it has always been the handle that fails, not the fork.

Pulls them up by the roots
This thing is solid. I use it to dig up trees that are starting to grow in the lawn. Dig down near the tap root and pry the ground to loosen the roots up and the whole thing comes right out. The most durable weeding spade I've come across. Before this, I would use the shorter weeding thistle pickers that would cut the plant off below ground level. They're easy and the results look great until the dandelions and thistles come back from the roots still in there. This thing should effectively remove the weeds by the roots.

4 stars because it hasn't arrived yet.....
But I have bought 2 other implements from Radius Garden and I am well pleased. These tools are not cheap. However, as I age I need the tool to do the work with as little physical effort on my part as possible. Radius Garden tools fill this requirement for me.My other favorite implements of destruction are made by Rogue. Both companies offer great tools that are worth every dime.

The king of shovels.
I love this thing...since the initial unboxing, I've been enamored by the hum the steel gives off when it bumps up against something. A resonant bell to announce its hardiness through the years.Seriously though. This shovel without the radius handle is the best I've ever used. The stainless steel really is something new to me, and it's a very welcome upgrade from the typical mold. But add in the radius handle and this thing is a unstoppable force.I was able to use it as a sort of auger in my raised bed to put together a soil mix, and in that moment, the years I've wasted on other shovels flashed before my eyes. Great design, great build quality, great experience.NOTE: It's really hard to get the sticker off...I eventually got mine removed, but it left behind a ton of residue. My resolve for you is to let the shovel shout its branding from the rooftops. It deserves the recognition.
