I set out looking for another small sized light weight yet heavy duty blow dryer with better than average customer reviews
My little blow dryer was very old and the on-off switch stopped working. To turn it on it had to be plugged in. To turn it off it had to be unplugged. Ugh.I have very long thick hair and I have arthritis. Any of the heavier large sized models are not suitable for me. So, I set out looking for another small sized light weight yet heavy duty blow dryer with better than average customer reviews. I was narrowing my choice down to this Andis 1600-Watt MicroTurbo Hair Dryer when I noticed that my wellness center has several of the Andis wall mounted version blow dryers in their locker rooms. And so did the hotel we stayed in while out of town.I am very pleased with this little blow dryer. At 4'11" I have fairly small hands and the grip fits me just right. My husband has XXXL hands and he likes it, too.It is light enough for me to use without causing me any pain. Plus, it's small and light enough to travel with. The cord is a good length, too.Don't let its small size fool you. The high speed setting is powerful. I can dry my hair quickly and be on my way.I read a customer review where she complained that it was too loud. Have you ever had a quiet blow dryer? Not me. LOLTrust me. It is no louder than any other blow dryer that I've ever used or the other three ( Large ) blow dryers in this house.Another reviewer said she got her hair tangled up in it and her husband had to cut her hair to release her.Duh!***Attention! No matter the make or the model of any blow dryer it should never be held that close to the hair on your head! Unless of course you intend on frying it to a crisp.Read the warnings. For example:Don't use it while taking a bath.I recommend this Andis 1600-Watt Hair Dryer.

Powerful yet small... but it is loud.
From what I could tell, I imagined this hairdryer to be larger than it really is. It looks very much like my older Sunbeam, except it is half the size. Despite its size, it does throw out a LOT of heat. My older and bigger one was 1500 watts and this new one uses 100 watts more (1600w) on the High setting. It is about 40% louder than my older hairdryer too, which isn't an issue, except when I use it to take the chill out of my bed on cold winter nights.Other reviewers have mentioned the significant difference between the heat from the Low and High settings. I have confirmed this. The low setting is hot, but only if you keep the hairdryer about 5 to 6 inches away; whereas the high settings is pretty hot, even from approximately 15 to 18 inches away. The small size is great for travel. It'll fit well into any suitcase, and the dual voltage should come in handy. I haven't had a chance to use it with 250 volt power, but once I do, I will update my review, should it give me any significant impression. From what I read up on about the issue with the heating appliances between the two voltages, the hairdryer will in fact only work on the low setting due to the multiplication of the watts. 400 watts (low setting at 125 volts) will become 1600 watts at 250 volts (still the low setting). As for the durability of this dryer, I'll have to wait and see. I really hope it will last 25 years like my older and larger Sunbeam model. If it doesn't, you'll see an update to this review.

So good, we now have six in case they discontinue it!
Many years ago, I bought one of these for a trip. Somehow the "folding handle" travel hair driers were still as big and bulky as their counterparts. Still big and heavy to throw into an overnight bag.I decided I give this mini hair drier a try and then... both my wife and I were sold on it!It's surprisingly powerful for such a small hair drier, as well. Over the time, we've gotten six of them. A couple of spares for us, and a couple for our niece and nephew. THIS PRODUCT IS FAR TOO GOOD NOT TO SHARE! It may be time to buy a couple more, just in case. They last for years, too! This is one of my favorite products found on Amazon. The Bottom Line?Uncle Steve Approved!!!

Excellent little dryer
I looked at this little dryer for one criterion that was my exclusive priority - I wanted a small handheld dryer that would not scare my pet cockatiel bird when I dry him after his shower in the winter! Needless to say, its color, size, sound and portability mattered. I chose this and couldn't be happier. He loves it too. The heat of both settings is ideal, it worked well for my hair too. The fact that it is dual voltage was not as important to me, although we travel to Europe a lot, but I can use the dryers in the hotel itself. It does sound a little louder than I had thought after reading reviews that it was quiet. The other issue is that the slider switch is a little difficult to operate and tends to slide all the way from end to end. It is difficult to move to the off position in the center.

Nice little hair dryer
This is an attractive, small, powerful hair dryer that ties in nicely to our bathroom. Fits well in the styling holder that I bought elsewhere. It has 2 drying settings, low and high.

Small & lightweight
This is an excellent hair dryer! Had it for a couple months now. It's compact & lightweight with plenty of air volume & heat to get the job done quickly. What more could you want? The only possible con I could have is it could be a little more quieter on the high setting (on low you can barely hear it), but it's a minor issue. It isnt as noisy as my old compact unit I had for years so that’s a plus. Based on that I would rate this unit at 4-3/4 stars if it were possible. I'm glad I bought it.

Impressed!
This little machine has a lot of power! and the heat is great. I don't have a lot a space so the size is so convenient too. Also, the look and feel of the dryer are high quality, it has good weight to it if you know what I mean.

Small - Great for Travel
I travel a lot by air so I wanted the smallest and lightest possible blow dryer possible to put in my carry-on luggage. This blow dryer was easily half the size and weight of my folding "travel" blow dryer. This was the smallest one I could fine. Works just fine for my hair drying needs.

Love it.
Love this compact blow dryer. It packs a lot of power and does a great job drying my hair quickly. I bought it primarily for travel but I love it so much, I'm retiring my much bigger blow dryer and am also using it at home.
