Really awesome!
I was very nervous about dropping a hundred bucks on a hair styling tool of all things, but I'm really glad I did! I watched a couple of YouTubers try it out and decided it was worth an investment. I am the woman with the pink hair in the product images; my hair is product-free in the images and I took the photos after using the Curl Secret and then going out for the day.I think preference will vary from person to person with this product. I can absolutely see why some people who try this out still prefer more traditional curling tools. If you have trouble getting your curls to look right? Try this if you've been thinking about getting it. It does all the work for you and takes roughly the same amount of time as a curling iron. It's not super speedy or magical, but it's a really good tool! It's especially good for people who can't get the hang of clipless curling irons and are sick of dents being left by the traditional irons that have clips. Some things I was asked by friends when I told them about it, answered:-- Yes, it's easy! Case in point: I had my completely hair clueless husband do the back of my hair for me the other day and he did just fine!-- Yes, it works! I get great curls and they REALLY last, even without product (this will range based on hair type, most likely.)-- No, it does not eat/trap your hair while it's curling! The "hold" is very loose and, unless you manage to severely tangle yourself in it, it lets go just like that as soon as you release the clamp.-- Yes, you CAN get your hair stuck in it if you put too much in or partially miss the feed when inserting your hair. No, it is not hard to get it back out, and no, it is not hard to get your hair correctly fed through.-- No, it does not damage hair (no more than any other heating tool does, anyway.) My hair feels just as soft as before using it and there is no "crispiness."-- Yes, it works on long hair, though it works best on hair that's above shoulder length to just past the shoulders in length. If your hair is halfway down your back this may only be good for curls that start partway up instead of near the root. If that's what you prefer, awesome! To avoid your hair getting stuck*:-- Read the instructions. No brainer, I know!-- Make sure your hair is tangle free before using.-- Do not try to feed too much hair into it. 1.5"-1" is about as much as it can take.-- Mind the feed (stay to the middle.)-- Don't hold it backwards! The open side (with the exposed end of the barrel and text on the plastic) should be the side facing your scalp.*Sometimes it just happens, especially when you're doing the back of your head yourself! It's not hard to miss the feed when it's in your blind spot, but it's not as scary as it sounds. Don't panic; don't yank or tug. Remember: A few extra seconds of heat while you get your hair out isn't going to burn it off. Untangling it usually takes less time than it takes for properly fed hair to curl, but rough treatment may tear your hair out or get you legitimately stuck. The feed will push your hair out a bit so you can release pressure on the clamp and pull it out, holding by the roots with your fingers and wiggling gently as you go. 9/10 that's all it takes.

The Solution for Hair that Never Curls!!
I have long and very very straight hair. I could never hold a curl, and I tried everything!! Even the curls that a professional would do for me, wouldn't last an hour. I have spent so much money on fancy curling irons and wands, and NOTHING WORK! This product though was a LIFESAVER for me!! For the first time, I have curls.. THAT STAY!At first, I was very worried about this product. After reading review after review about hair tangling, I was scared at first to even buy it. Especially since my hair is very easy to tangle. But I got it for Christmas and I tried it out. This product worked perfectly.JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and you will not have a problem. Also, when you are using it, you can feel if your hair is about to tangle, if thats the case JUST LET GO OF IT. The reason why people's hair get serious tangles inside the iron is because they don't let go quick enough, so it continues to try to curl your hair inside the inner barrel. If you feel like it is pulling your hair, then let go and then USE SMALLER HAIR SECTIONS. Make sure there are no tangles or stray hair interfering with the curling of your hair. Also, make sure that the barrel is not tilted. This can cause the hair to shift and tangle. Make sure its parallel to your head. Also, it doesn't get hot on the outside, So it is easier to handle. I am more afraid of a regular curling iron about burning my hair than this product. The only con I have is that it is a arm workout to use it. Its not that lightweight so having your arm up for that long makes your arms sore a little. It took me about 30 mins to curl all my hair (again I have very long and straight hair)This product is awesome!!

So far I am happy with this curler.
I read so many of the reviews that made it sound like my hair would be sucked up and claimed by this curler. I had visions of having to cut off my hair at the root to release it. I still decided to take a chance on it. I have long hair that is difficult to curl and doesn't hold curl very well, especially in humid weather. I can curl my hair when getting dressed, and by the time I get downstairs, it's straight again.Because of the past difficulty in curling my hair, I used the highest setting at the longest time. First of all, it beeped and flashed if I put too much hair in it. As a first-time user, it didn't get my hair stuck in it at all. When it beeped and flashed there was a problem, I released it and my hair came out without a problem. After the first use, I think I need to turn down the settings. It definitely made a lot of curl, and the curl didn't fall out even after brushing. There was too much curl and fluffiness for my liking. The next day after sleeping on it, I still had enough wave in my hair that I didn't have to curl it.I still have some learning to do as to how to use this curler, but I think it will work for me. It's just a matter of experimenting with the amount of curl I want and how close to my head that I want it. Since I wash my hair every other day, I am impressed that the curl lasts for the second day. To- date, I haven't had any other curling method that would last even one day.UPDATE:I have now used this curler about 4 times, and have gotten better with it. So far, I haven't had my hair get stuck in it even once. The trick is to keep strand of hair to 1-2 inches at the widest point, and to make sure it all fits in the channel of the curler. The first time I used the curler, I had it set to the high heat setting with the longest curl setting because my hair is usually difficult to curl and doesn't hold curl. I also started the curl within 3 inches of my head. Doing it this way, the style was much too "bushy" for my liking. The second time, I used the low heat setting with the longest curl cycle, and started the curl 4-5 inches from my head. I also held the curler closed for a few seconds past the 3 beeps for done. Doing it this way, the style was great - not bushy, but perfect curls. Using other curling methods, my hair was usually straight the next day after sleeping on it. After using this curler, there was still a lot of body and plenty of waves when I brushed it out. I didn't have to curl it again or pull it back like I have done in the past.At this point, I would highly recommend this curler for anyone with long, hard to curl hair. Follow the directions that come with the curler, and you won't have any problems with it.
