CTS-160, 30A Plasma Cutter, 160A TIG-Torch, 140A Stick Arc Welder 3-in-1 Combo Welding (CTS-160) - desertcart.com Review: Pleasantly surprised! All functions are impressive! - Love this thing! Had it a few weeks and have been working it pretty hard. No signs of trouble. Tig is HF start, plasma is more of a lift start or contact drag ( I just drag it - consumables are cheap and with practice they will still last a good while ). Stick arcs start easily and this little box has a lot of grunt. Especially impressed with tig performance. No pedal, but this unit is not AC (for aluminum ) and Iโd rather have HF start than a pedal and itโs a choice of either a pedal or hf start with inexpensive tig welders. Good communication from seller and everything packed well for shipping. Added the desertcart buyer protection just in case. Will check in if thereโs a problem. It you donโt see an update all is well and Iโm a happy camper! Also, works great plugged into my 8kw generator, so major portability here! Update: 11 months of use and it has a problem. Will only power on for a few seconds. Called manufacturer and they are sending a shipping label for return and will repair. Will update on the repair. Very responsive customer service and friendly people. Update: unit returned to me after 3weeks including shipping and itโs working great! Very happy with the customer service. Review: HAS EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS BY A LOT!!! - I'm a small auto repair shop and I buy from desertcart 10x a week and rely on reviews very much. However, I'm guilty of not leaving enough reviews. This Plasma/Welder is FANTASTIC!! I instantly was impressed with first use! Used on 110v to plasma cut some exhaust flange bolts and it did well. Then I connected to 220v on a 15amp circuit and WOW! This thing blasted the hardened rusty studs right out! Probably 5/8" thick material was blown right through!! This job typically takes 1-2hrs of drilling and multiple broken drill bits. Next day I bought Argon and flow gauge to try TIG function. I did not try on 110v, only at 220v. The Arc was instant and at 95amp welded 1/4' plate with very good results! I am not a professional welder, but I do know the basics and this thing did a great job! I have not used the stick welding function and doubt I ever will, but plasma and TIG are great!! The only negative things I would say are, double check all gas hose fittings with soapy water and tighten as necessary. And although I think it works great, the button on TIG torch is a bit awkward to push. I've only ever TIG welded with a pedal, so the button was different for me. It could be positioned better in my opinion. Overall, 5 STAR ALL DAY! Will Update review if anything fails!!

Decent value for the price.
I'm very happy with the performance of the welder. It's surprisingly capable for its price, size and weight. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the bad instruction manual and a few minor problems like the hand fitting on the gas hose for the TIG torch was missing so you have to use a wrench to tighten it. The Argon hose is very low quality, I replaced it with a good quality hose when I ordered the Argon regulator. It also lacks a power switch on the front so you have to use the breaker on the back. Also, throw away the SWAW electrodes it comes with. They are junk. The TIG consumables it comes with are ok and they work for practice but when you start doing real projects go online and get some quality Tungtens and the Pyrex cup set with the gas lenses. Same with the plasma torch, pick up some good quality consumables and your good to go. On the whole I'm still very happy as the unit itself exceeded my expectations and is a great welder for home and DIY use.

NICE
I wanted to wait a little bit before submitting a review , it is a really nice piece of equipment , it does a pretty good job on 120 volts , I was impressed , but when you hook it to 240 WOW , cuts through half inch mild steel no problem , it is a sweet having a tig welder in my garage and a plasma and stick welder all in one package , definitely worth the money.

best investment!
I wouldn't be happier! this is one of the most powerful units I own! being able to cut metal like butter and weld it back together like no ones business is a feeling words cant describe! get one asap before you get lost in depression because this literally brought me out of mine.

HF start! Welds great! Very forgiving for a learner.
To be honest there is not much I could do on 110v I was quickly maxing out my breaker. I run it off a 220 generator now with no issues. It came with everything but the regulator if I recall correctly. The plasma would work well for sheet metal and small cuts, thick stuff will take some passes. The TIG is high frequency start and will jump 3/8 an inch. The consumables will get your feet wet and some projects done. The no foot pedal is not horrible after you get a feel for the settings.

Very impressed!!
I ordered a CTS 160, the factory upgraded it for free to the CTS 180. The CTS 180 is great, I finally had a chance to make a few stick welds and 1 cut. It has a smooth steady arc and out performed my high dollar plasma. It will hang right there with the high dollar stick welders. Havenโt tried the Tig yet. But most likely it will perform just as well. Yes you can spend $1500 and get a little better results, but not really that much better.
