I didn't realize it was plastic, but it's the right size and it does what I needed. The clamps are heavy duty. And it's only four screws to assemble. Comes with everything you need. I have a small desk so it's just the right size.

I bought one of these to add a keyboard tray to a glass-top "L" desk and it worked great for the job, so I actually bought another one to make a "double keyboard tray" for another desk I had. See the attached picture. Basically, I have two computers there; the black one on the "cooling throne" is my gaming computer hooked up to the monitor, and the silver laptop is something I can use to watch movies or chat to people while I game.The double tray lets me have a keyboard for each computer, and the setup actually works pretty well. Bear in mind, if I were a tall guy, this would bump my knees pretty badly, but I'm short enough that my knees can tuck under it.Note that this particular model is so narrow that a full size keyboard doesn't have room for a mouse. I believe they also make a wider version (this one is the 20 inch tray / 24 inch overall footprint model). This is not a complaint, just a statement of fact, I knew what I was getting :)One thing that IS a minor complaint is the track 'mechanism' if you could call it that. Basically, the metal clamps that hold it to your table (or other keyboard tray in this case) attach to these little metal riders that slide in plastic grooves. There's no bearings or anything like that, it doesn't use metal tracks like most keyboard trays that come with a desk. It strikes me as very flimsy and it's actually kind of stiff to pull these trays out since it's literally just metal rubbing on plastic with no anti-friction surface.I have a feeling these will wear out quickly and the metal piece that rides in the track will eventually come out, but so far so good. That's what keeps this from being a 5 star product, it's not quite 5 star quality, but it's okay.

When I opened the package I thought this tray seemed rather flimsy. But it isn't. It clamps firmly onto the table I use for a desk and provides a stable base for typing. It is much more comfortable than having the keyboard on the table, putting it about three inches below the table. And it slides out of the way if you don't want to type. Of course, you need about two inches (maybe a tad more) overhang to secure the clamp.

I'm short so most tables give me shoulder and wrist issues after typing for a while. Even the height adjustable table doesn't go low enough for me. If I were to raise the chair then my feet will be dangling like in a roller coaster chair. I have a small apartment, in a crowded space, those feature-full fancy keyboard trays are too bulky plus won't fit under my height adjustable table because of the raise-n-lower electrical and mechanical system gets in the way. This keyboard tray is simple and compact without the bells and whistles I don't care for.

My home office desk was too high, so I needed a keyboard shelf. But my desk is small so I needed a compact size. This one was perfect size! If you want to put keyboard AND a mouse, this one is definitely too small. But if you just need it for keyboard alone, this is basically the size of a standard keyboard. Metal hooks are very sturdy and good quality. The keyboard shelf itself is a very light weight plastic, but seems to be in good shape. I'm glad I purchased this one. Works great!

This is a very good quality product. The attachment arms are metal NOT plastic, sturdy and will last a long time. I was so impressed that the tray came with a small screwdriver and and extra screw - Very thoughtful! It is simple to screw the arms to the tray and fix to the desk. I absolutely love it! I also ordered the Stand Steady X-Elite Pro XL Standing Desk. They work great together, since the standing desk sits up a few inches higher than my regular desk when it is in the lowest position. The key board is in a comfortable position.

It perfectly fit my desk and helped organize my home office better.
