Great shoes
I really like the shoes. They are cute and comfortable to wear. I am currently living in Australia and had the shoes sent to the hotel where my husband was staying while on a business trip back in the states. They arrived on the date promised, which was great since my husband was due to fly back to Australia on that day. When my husband opened the package, the lady at the front desk commented on how cute the shoes where.I had read the reviews on the shoes from others and thankfully had ordered my shoes a 1/2 size bigger. Which I am thankful I did because the shoes do tend to run a bit small. I have a narrow foot, so the 1/2 size bigger is perfect but I could see where someone might even want to order a whole size bigger.Other then the sizing issue, the shoes are great. They are fun to wear and are very cute.

Wanted to love - too tight across the top of the foot.
I wanted to love these and finally placed an order after watching them for months. They arrived quickly, and were true to expectations in terms of quality and construction. The suede is not especially luxe, but it is a typical black suede. These have a nice leather insole and comfortable cushioning in the footbed. I did not care for the light gray lining that showed around the edge of the shoe, but was willing to overlook it. I am a very true-to-size 8.5 medium, and ordered a 9 m based on the reviews. Length-wise, the fit was good. Across the top of my foot (the vamp?) this shoe was horribly tight. I wore them sitting down in the car for a couple hours and again at my desk for a half day, and just couldn't bear the constricting across that part of my foot. Left some serious marks. I can't imagine they would ever really stretch to a comfortable point in that area, so I returned them. These shoes have a certain "Cinderella's day slipper" quality - that basic black flat - not too ballet-ish, not at all pointy, no discernible heel. They show no toe cleavage at all, and I think the dimensions of the toe - where it hits on the top of the foot - kinda lean toward frumpy. Disappointing for sure - if you have a narrow foot, these may work for you. They are not a "stylish" ballet flat - just a good basic.

Very disappointed
I’ve been wearing French Sole flats for years, have probably purchased 8 or 9 pairs, either on line or in stores. I even went to the outlet in NYC years ago to get them. I say all that to say I used to be a big fan but not anymore. I always get the black Napa leather. This time they were out of stock in my size so I bought the black patent ones instead. WHAT A MISTAKE. I loved the Napa leather because they provided a good deal of arch support, which I need. The patent leather version has NO ARCH SUPPORT AT ALL. I wore them exactly once and by the end of the day my knees and legs were so sore I had to go home and ice them. Has something changed in how these are made? Do they all have no support at all now? The Napa leather ones were great and I recommended them to everyone but now I am so disappointed that I feel as though I just took more than $100 and flushed it down the toilet.

Love. ORDER A HALF SIZE UP.
Super soft, comfortable, and unlike many ballet flats they're flattering on feet that aren't extremely narrow. And yes, DO ORDER A HALF SIZE UP. I'm a 7.5 in evvvvvverything, and a 7.5 French Sole (Zeppa or Sloop) is a foot-eating hell monster. I mean, if you enjoy ingrown toenails, foot cramps, or wearing multiple bandaids then by all means, go ahead and order your regular size. Yes, they're nice leather and yes, they will stretch/mold to your foot to some degree - but not nearly enough.Do note that the patent naplak Sloop is, like all patents, plastic coated. While it's nicely supple (not a thick stiff patent like a Ferragamo pump), it's not nearly as stretchy/pliable as non-patent leathers -- this will be particularly obvious at the seam across the vamp. If you have medium to wide feet, you might want to stretch them there (or have your local shoe shop do so), otherwise that seam is going to dig into the top of your foot something fierce. I stretched mine myself (with a standard shoe stretcher) and it made ALL the difference. They went from "oh my god ow no ow [cuss] GEEZ OW [cuss] no" to "yeah, I can do six hours running around shopping in these, no prob."

Great, high-quality basic flats in a great variety of colors!
These are my go-to flats. You can dress these up or wear them with jeans, either way they look great. I have four pairs now in different colors, and they're very chic, simple, and comfortable once they've been broken in. They are a bit tight across the top at first, but a shoe stretcher can take care of that quickly. I love that they are so well-made, and have lasted quite a long time - the leather is quite supple, not stiff, and the stitching has lasted very well despite some pretty hard wear. They do run small, so order a size up. Would definitely keep buying more of these!

Nice shoes but inconsistent fit!
Really like the French Sole Sloop Ballet Flat. However, their sizing is an issue. These 8.5 shoes didn't fit at all ... too big. Bought another pair in 8.5 in the suede material and they fit great. So I bought another 8.5 in the same suede material but a different color and they were way too small. Shoe would be ok if their sizing was consistent. Unfortunately, only one pair of the 8.5 fit and the other two, did not. Wish they could get their fact together. Also, as an fyi, there is absolutely no cushioning in this shoe. So if you do not have high arches, don't buy.

Ballerines de très belle qualité faites en Italie!
Ce modèle est fait petit, on doit prendre 1/2 point plus grand. C'est d'ailleurs ce que le fabricant recommande!J'adore ces petites ballerines, j'en ai 5 paires de différentes couleurs mais pour celles qui veulent vraiment du support, ce n'est pas le bon choix.Pour moi, elles sont super confortables et tellement mignonnes.
